Thank you very much and I appreciate what you do aswell to make sure we all get our mail in the mornings/midday.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:at my DO the cleaners are very cheerful and very helpful. If I see them when I get back from my duty I always have a word or joke with them. Just like us Posties everyone needs the camaraderie and support of others. Well done to all the cleaners out there. Just like us you are in your feet all day doing a thankless job which is never fully appreciated and which sometimes never seems to end. You have my appreciation.

Not being funny but whats wrong with keeping your work area tidy???????disgruntledpostie1 wrote:What's a cleaner??? Are they like the Yeti or the Loch Mess monster?? We've been told that we have to clean as we go along (picking up strapping/plastic that falls on the floor).
And leave the area how you would LIKE to find it.
some people in our office are so lazy in regard to this, throw labels on the floor rather than the bin which is next to them for eg.

I do keep my area clean and tidy but others just through things straight on the floor but what we were told is that we've to clean up other peoples mess which I'm not prepared to do.the beautiful bd south wrote:Not being funny but whats wrong with keeping your work area tidy???????disgruntledpostie1 wrote:What's a cleaner??? funnily enough i always had the same arguement when i was a cleaner, I actually gave a manager a brush to use, because after I cleaned up an area he decided to be clever and bag tip, missd a big bin and drop the shite on the floor. Imagine his face when I told him that health and safety is everyone responsibility and if someone broke their legs round that area, it wouldn't be my fault it will be his because he was too lazy to use a bin.
The worst thing i have found was when I was cleaning a toielt and I have found someone had shite in a bin, again made a manager empty the bin.
Its annoys me when people think that cleaners are their to be their slaves.

That's why we appreciate the Cleaners so much
The same thing happens a lot where I work. If it wasn't for the fact that the Cleaners keep on top of it, we would be drowning under paper, the backing from the Cage Cards (stickers these days), Cable Ties, Strapex, etc.. It makes you wonder, what state some of these people live in at Home.the beautiful bd south wrote:Not being funny but whats wrong with keeping your work area tidy???????disgruntledpostie1 wrote:What's a cleaner???
