Just to add because politics is such an emotive subject try not to slag people off if they vote anything different to you. I am "another party" as I am going Green this time round. They seem to have more in common with my beliefs regarding big business and socialism. They are also my closest match to a mix of True Conservative Values and True Labour Values in that no part of the population should be treated better than the rest, Business, Family, People - no group should be treated in isolation to the rest.
I will proably have to wait untill the next General Election/2010 to vote Green .
I was thinking about voting Labour but the local labour councillor's election leaflet just reiterated what a good job Labour has done nationally and had loads of pictures of him in front of local schools, community centres and libraries no mention of Post Offices closing, although we are not due to get our cull until Sep/Oct time.
The Green candidates leaflet did have a lot of local issues, including POs, bus fares, and cheaper affordable housing, along with renewable energy and recycling. Some of his ideas I don't like but on balance I opted for him and have already sent my postal vote back with the X duly marked for the Green Candidate.
Labour may one day get a vote from me but they have to stop being so business orientated and at least bring some socialism back into their ethos before I would consider voting for them nationally. Hopefully they will get the message from the local elections, because they are not getting it, or at least not listening to the message from the Mori Polls and such like.

It's better with the assembly. There you've got the Greens, the Left List and the George Galloway/Respect slate. For once, it's a question of picking the best and not just the best of two or three evils.
Why not give the very attractive Sian Berry fom the Green poarty 1st preference? There are TEN canidates in the mayoral elections so plenty to chose from!!!!!!!
Ken and Sian are urging there supporters to give their 2nd preference vote to the other one as both prefer each other than any of the other canidates.
Ken has due to green party influence set up a living wage unint to find out the true cost of living in London, any company working for the Mayors office/GLA has to pay their staff this london living wage. Employers not working for GLA/MAYOR have voluntarily took on this wage and its working for them. Absensce is down productivity is up!!!!!
The Green Party? For Gods sake lets get real here. Anyone can have totally unrealistic policies and manifestos when you are NOT going to control a council locally and as for a Green Government - I'd have two arseh*les before that ever happened. It's idealistic twaddle

I am pretty sure that Liberal Supporters before 1918 said that about the Labour Party. Also my local area is a hung council and the Greens along with Liberals could be strong if that happened again.

The greens are very close to becoming the 2nd largest party on Norwich city coucnil i belive.
Going by your reasoning we should only ever vote Conservative or Labour at a general election.

I'll tell you what - you tell me the last time it wasn't a Tory or Labour Government and if it was in my lifetime I'll vote for that party. Otherwise I'll be voting Labour again and if they lose to the Tories - the only other viable contender - then lets hope you were a boy scout.
