Well it’s taken the CWU a while but I think they may finally be realising that the foreign Billionaire wants to make money.
To quote someone close to the billionaire (Etienne Bertier) "Daniel doesn't need money. He needs to invest his money".
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

This could well be the start of the end of the CWU if they are powerless to stop the changes, which, sadly, seems highly likely.
We're well past that. The beginning of the end was the start of the 2022 industrial action, the middle was the climbdown in 2023, and thus the end of the end will be early 2026 when the ODM is implemented over the impotent remains of the CWU.

I said it in August 2022 when everyone was having fun on the picket line with music playing and hot food coming off the barbecue - the existence of the CWU was going to hinge on how that industrial action played out. The company wrote off Christmas 2022 in the short term in order to eliminate the threat of the union to their long term strategic plans.
spot on with that comment. back in the day the threat of strikes over xmas would make the company fold and come to some agreement. but the last strike when they done nothing let us stay out the writing was on the wall.

You have to fear that DK was backing the board at that stage as it was a brave move by them to write off Christmas if he wasn't, if he was then you can't see EP Group now having any interest in coming to any agreements with the CWU which aren't in their favour.

Taking a 27% hit to your dividends is alot less than 100% he won't want the bad press and the eyes on him. Never underestimate the power of strike action done properly they will cave they want you to believe we have no power in numbers.

Mate, the board had his full and enthusiastic support. He was cheering them from the sidelines to go harder and faster. Their “successes” impressed him enough to take full ownership. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.
