How common is it for a van to return from the workshop with whatever fault not fixed?
Very.
10 times in a row it came back with more faults than it went in with. :d'oh! :Applause

Hopefully no one is crazy enough to drive a van that as returned from the workshop with a fault not fixed, and that it stays out of use and keeps getting sent back to the workshop until the workshop pulls their finger out and actually fixes the fault.

It all depends what the fault is, not every fault makes a van not roadworthy. If it's the only van available on the day then I'd sooner use that van than deliver double mail, or even treble mail, the following day.

My wife and I work in Wolverhampton office. On Saturday we had a huddle that they are scrapping or getting rid of the old combo vans. Saturday was the last day of using the old combo vans. They will be giving us newer vans. My wife has been driving the old combo van for over 20 years on her single round. So she was attached to it lol. I told her just relax and get use to the newer vans. She has no choice 😞

Our office still had about 4-5 old combo vans.

I Got a few questions

Does any other offices still use the old combo vans ?

What do they do with the old combo vans. Do they give em to a different office to use or scrap em or sell em ?
Glasgow just got rid off them about 5 weeks ago. And yet the 2 posture who do my street still run about. It's pathetic.

At least a couple of dozen still being used at our DO.
Blimey a couple of dozen I thought most DO were only left with a handful, I think even the local workshop's reserve Combo's have been scrapped.
Anytime another office got new (electric) vans we got their old ones.
Same. The last office I worked up before I got on the wagons was one of the hand-me-down offices. In terms of both vans and staff.

It was a self-described misfit office :Very Happy
