Scheduled Attendance
What is classed as S/A. The COM has approached a few people to do early IPS for 1 hour each day Weds- Sat. For his X mas plan he has to submit. This would be starting 1st December. One of the senior colleagues asked if it would attract SA rate as in previous years and the COM went green with fear.

Re: Scheduled Attendance
It stands for scheduled attendance, basically regular overtime that you signed for and were committed to do for a fixed period - a year maybe as opposed to adhoc, at our place they used to offer it for some afternoon collections duties, it attracted a slightly higher rate (don't know what the difference is) than the regular overtime rate.
I think they could pay regular overtime at the higher rate so it sounds like that's what your colleague is asking, no idea if they currently can pay it at a higher rate.
Someone more informed than me might know

Re: Scheduled Attendance
It’s a higher rate and u get paid it when you’re on holiday as well. If u can’t do it for whatever reason it is up to you to get it covered. It has to be resigned for every 12 months after being advertised.
If you can get them to out in early morning SA’s for Xmas then well done but remember the above.

Re: Scheduled Attendance
In case you’re a newbie - we don’t get SA rates
We get our standard OT rates on SA’s
I asked HR
“Your contract does not attract the SA rates”

Re: Scheduled Attendance
I don't know what the SA rate is but pretty sure it won't be much more than standard rate so it's probably less than the newbie over 40 hrs 1.25 rate, that could explain the reason for that.

Re: Scheduled Attendance
Scheduled attendance is used to cover unconditioned hours that have to be resourced. Conditioned hours are the hours everyone is contracted to work, i.e. 30 hours. There should be sufficient conditioned hours to cover the operation. There will be work that has to be covered, such as collections, that will not be part of the conditioned hours which is why they are called unconditioned hours. These hours are then covered under the scheduled attendance agreement.Fed wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 02:26What is classed as S/A. The schedule attendance agreement commits the worker to contractually agree to the additional hours. For giving that commitment, which is a variation of contract, the worker is given an enhanced rate of pay. These hours are paid to the worker continuously even if the work is not required, such as on a bank holiday.
Scheduled attendance payments do not cover resourcing. If the duty needs resourcing due to absence that will be resourced by the employer. Workers are able to swap their duties with other workers who will then be paid the scheduled attendance subject to the employers agreement.
Scheduled attendance duties are advertised on a yearly basis and workers will sign for them on a yearly basis. Both parties can give notice to end the contract variation.
As part of peak resourcing schedule attendance rates can be paid for any pre-arranged unconditioned hours that are required to cover the operation.
