Also this automatic redelivery is preventing other items getting delivered if a second attempt is mandatory that just adds to the workload.

Half our shared vans only get tracked and first class done, a couple of loops if lucky. It's unsustainable. Thank God the union will have our backs

Re: Parcels/Tracks/Specials/Collections/1st class mail on 2 rounds IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
How many Tracked/SP's/1c's are you attempting to deliver? I find the first two are usually doable, it's then depends how many 1c you have to contend with, 10 or so for each duty and it's not a big issue, 20 plus is just too much .Dan jack wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025, 05:18Parcels/Tracks/Specials/Collections/1st class mail on 2 rounds IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
They want us to do everything now. U chuck your own walk in. Find all the 1st class. They also want you to find the 1st class on the other round too !!!
If u miss 1 or 2 1st class mail. They throw there toys out the pram !!! lol
Wednesday onwards you can’t even fit everything in the bloody van.
On top of that no extend !!! You have tell them you got certain amount of tracks on your gun. Then they authorise you to extend. JOKE !!!!
Whilst the MC's are separating Ic MECH flats are still all mixed together and that can be a tray plus which needs checking for each duty.

Re: Parcels/Tracks/Specials/Collections/1st class mail on 2 rounds IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
All the manual letters and flats from other MCs arrive with 1C and 2C in separate trays, the only issue being the redirections, not many people know that there are now 1C and 2C redirections. The manual letters and flats we send to the DOs are with 1C and 2C in separate trays.TopperGas wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025, 19:33How many Tracked/SP's/1c's are you attempting to deliver? The problem is until we start using the 1c/2c IPS frames all the post is mixed together when it's sorted during IPS, any idea why what signifies a 1c redirection, where do they come from given the labels we use in the DO's all seem to be 2c redo's?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025, 19:57All the manual letters and flats from other MCs arrive with 1C and 2C in separate trays, the only issue being the redirections, not many people know that there are now 1C and 2C redirections. Re: Parcels/Tracks/Specials/Collections/1st class mail on 2 rounds IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
We've done a few days where we've unofficially trialled it and been asked to take out all the 1c across 2 deliveries. On the first Saturday there was 130 tracked 70 1c letters, flats and packets, the boxes off both sides the customer collections and an annoying quad locker that keeps breaking or opening every door slowly and forcing you to stand there for 10 mins emptying out the tat that people have posted in there during the night.
Then the following Monday with 3 D2Ds and double day on both sides of a shared van is exactly the reason the hare brained ODM won't work in all but the smallest, less affluent rural areas. So probably about 10 offices.

I appreciate it's shown on the label but just wondered why the odd one is 1c, don't tell me we're charging customers more for 1c redo's when the sender might have already paid for 1c?

Re: Parcels/Tracks/Specials/Collections/1st class mail on 2 rounds IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
Didn't they all used to be 1st, but there's a recent change that re-dir's are now all 2nd class. Old ones still running are prob still 1st.TopperGas wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025, 22:17I appreciate it's shown on the label but just wondered why the odd one is 1c, don't tell me we're charging customers more for 1c redo's when the sender might have already paid for 1c?
Just found it on the RM website:
From 16 June 2025, mail redirected as part of our Redirection Service, currently treated as a first-class service, will be handled using our second-class delivery service.
This means all new and renewed Redirection agreements set up from 16 June 2025, will be processed as second class.
If your Redirection was setup prior to the 16th June 2025, we will continue to redirect your mail as first - class, until your pre-issued first-class new address labels are exhausted. Thereafter, your redirected mail will be processed as second-class.

Re: Parcels/Tracks/Specials/Collections/1st class mail on 2 rounds IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
Nope, ALL mail is thrown into the frame and like today I had to go thro 12 walks that had mail prepped into their frames that had not gone out (1 hour) and pick out all the 1st class and deliver them alongside a walk I was allocated with 3 days mail on it. Total joke.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025, 10:29
1C and 2C are sent to DOs in separate trays. Your DO must be mixing them together on the IPS

If other offices get a similar service to mine, we frequently get yorks ‘condensed’. Packets and trays in the same york, trays of business replies underneath normal mail.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑17 Sep 2025, 10:29

The lorries we get down are limited to 15 yorks and stuff is regularly mixed together just to get it all in one load
