Just wondering with ur doorstep thing, who puts all the weekly driving scores on ur pda messages to u? doesnt seem to be a manager any idea where it comes from , or any other issues or complaints on the pda

I figure the system does your driving scores itself as the vehicle check off essentially assigns a vehicle to whoever was logged into the pda it was completed on, trimble collects the data and its just assgined to the pda that vehicle was checked on.

The managers can leave notes on your account that are accessed by the bottom right of the doorstep screen.

Drivers scores are a joke, you get pulled up for 95/96%, what the hell, in any other walk of life that's a big pass! they shouldn't be pulling you up and telling you to improve if you get over 90% in my opinion.

When I got a score lower than 96% a few months ago, a note was left on my PDA which stated that your score was looked at over the month, so it shouldn’t really count if you are under for a day. If you are consistently under it, then they will have a word, but they can’t conduct you- at the moment.

In all honesty you need to be doing some radical driving to get under 96%.
The other week my Trimble must have beeped 15 times in the day due to breaking and accelerating and has on occasions gone into the red but the score is still around 98-99%.
They are more bothered about the idling as that can soon add up.

Different offices must do different things, as we get a "note" everyday we're under 96% but never seen any further action taken?

Although the scores are a joke as the longer you drive the lower the score gets, I assume every driver start every day at 100% then lose a portion of the % for each amber/red, so if you do collections or LATS etc in OT keeping above 96% takes far more effort than just using a van for a 4/5 hour postal duty.

Yeah the idling and yellow dots are the main ones we get at work time learnings.. I've had loads of jobs over the years, as I rarely stay at one job more than a year or two, and this job is the only one where they track your every move, either driving or on foot!. the PDA is just their personal tracker

How about the new vans they don’t have a Trimble in them. I assume they are trying to save money not fitting them however it can’t be right to be pulling people up for their driving scores when u could in theory go sideways round every corner in one of the new vans and never get pulled up.

ours employ a manager to collate all the data then walk about the office for an hour telling all the drivers that they were either great or poor yesterday,
and of course you can drive like an idiot and idle for ages if it's your day off the next as they only deal with previous days data,
a real way to save money i guess

I can't see that's comparable to the Trimble data if it's anything like my own cars onboard telemetrics? So basically the company must have decided Trimble's aren't worth the expense?

Meanwhile anybody with an ageing van is getting pulled up for driving around a roundabout slightly quicker than the Trimble feels you should be driving!!

Is there any way for a member of staff to request to see it? Is it stored on managers computer or is it the higher ups?

I think it's on the managers computer as he said they can daily keep track of what we do and where we drive, and if there's any obvious deviations we will be in the office and we can see the data and explain why we went "off track" or took the long way back to the office etc

The 25 plate Peugeots definitely have cellular connections. Look in the system settings to change the time and date - it's defaulted to something like 'Network', which is Network Time Protocol. We had our van idling quite a lot to run the A/C last month and the driver's idling score reflected that. No Trimble fitted.

From what I can remember seeing in My Dashboard, it captures all the stats a Trimble does, ie, acceleration, braking, cornering, idling etc. The front-end hardware might be different (onboard telematics vs a retrofitted Trimble telematics system) but the backend is likely the same Trimble software.
