Holiday entitlement

Can anyone tell me do you still get an extra weeks holiday after 15 years service.I am reluctant to ask or believe my manager.

I've just passed 20 years (sob) and was asked to book an extra week holiday.

That's correct plus if you want to purchase extra leave and make it up to 6 then the deduction is 1.6% weekly so not that noticeable.

(The window to do this for the forthcoming year starts Jan and ends last day Feb though according to the people app)

Check when you get your 20 years as you maybe entitled to an extra day or two as it rarely equates on the A/L sheet. I phone H/R and was granted 2 extra days. Manager warned me not to tell everyone but I did of course. Roughly the same principle when they dock
ed A/L days for strike days but in reverse. And when you retire and they claw money back if you have taken too much holiday

When starting - 4 weeks 2.5 days
Maybe from 5 years - 4 week 3.5 days
Under 15 years - 4 weeks 3.5 days
15 to 20 years - 5 weeks 1 day
20+ years - 6 weeks

Did 20 years at Royal Mail, and after 15 years I always booked 5 weeks annual leave exactly, didn't know about the extra day and never noticed it being added to my allowance.

Royal Mail make a fortune out of hard working posties with dodgy overtime payments, holiday entitlement, Bank Holiday days off and posties still going that extra mile giving another 10 minutes here and there to get another loop done before home, to name a few examples. I'm sure there will be plenty more. Not to mention the fools deliberately working for free.
Probably the best is the yearly pay rise negotiations that goes on and on to the point of it being backdated 6 months but only to the ones remaining and not those who could have done over say 5 months
Anyway rant over, glad I'm out of it.

Well been trying to reason with my manager about this since September 23rd.today he gets me in the office and says I do not qualify for 5 weeks and a day after 15 years because our office uses the wallington system and blah blah blah.I tried to say to him that other people in our office can pick 5 weeks and he said that’s because they’ve done 20 years service.
Then he informed me that he will be changing my frame next week when I am off to conform with the mech in the morning.I am beginning to think he is trying to get one over on me just for asking my rights.

Your manager is correct as you're on the Wallington system you need to use 6 days holiday rather than 5 to have a week off so the people who've done over 20 years can have 5 full weeks off as they get 30 days leave, you'll be eligible for the equivalent of 26 days leave so on a Wallington system that means 4 weeks 2 days if you've done over 15 years service.

(I've quoted it in days for ease of explanation but of course it's dealt with in hours)
