SiSo and managers bonuses

Post by wandle »

For those offices that use their ID Badges to Scan In Scan Out instead of the old paper signing-in sheets, do compliance levels affect managers’ bonuses?
I forgot to scan in recently and a manager pulled me up on it, implying I’d sneaked in late and avoided scanning to not draw attention to the lateness. Something I never do, as if always call ahead if I’m going to be late.
A different manager did our pre-shift huddle so can confirm I was on time, and more importantly, several colleagues could confirm the same.
Line manager seemed peeved to a degree that really isn’t merited, hence why I ask if their bonus could be affected.

In which case, I’ll start forgetting to do it more often :left:

On the first occasion? Or after being ‘reminded’ ?
We are in Orwell’s 1984 if the leaders ignore the evidence of their eyes, and judge whether you were at work by whether a computer says you were there !! :left:

People in our office forget everyday, conduct route never happens. You get reminded and if you don't have your card or whatever you can sign in on the PDA.

It messes up all the scan to pay percentages if people forget to scan in.
Then local managers get grilled because they have to be within 80% of the scan to pay over the whole office within a week to be compliant.
Then they want the office to lapse more hours or cut the overtime rates.
The data they base their resourcing on is littered with errors.
Ridiculous way to run a business.
Don't know if it's related to bonuses but it causes them grief if people forget from above.

You can also sign in or out by inputting your pay number.

Tell him to check the cameras if he's that bothered by it.

It may vary from office to office, but I was always told the cameras were only switched on during an active investigation. Given what the average office looks like these days I don't think management would want any visual record of our current QoS to exist lest all that proof ever leak.
The machine stops.

Would it really take too much effort for IT to program the PDA's to only work if you've scanned in and then also remind you to scan out when you attempt to log off?
