Our office has already got the manning down to almost 3 into 4 numbers now, through natural wastage, retirement etc, with higher ups blocking any recruitment. Plans are for 62 total, we have 65 including 4 agency.
So whatever the NDA is covering, we need someone to tell us what is going on. We are still paying union NDA or no NDA, or have they suspended subs during the silence?

I mentioned it in the union section a few days back.
Apparently our manager is being pressured to push through 4 into 3 in October. Whether that actually happens I'm not sure.
Lorry drivers saying Banchory has already started it.
Our office just finished getting the colours taped to our benches on Monday. Setup for 4 into 3.
Van shares in blue and yellow.
Rural in pink.
But like some of u are saying. An update at the end of this week could change all that.
Please let them push it through so we can all watch it all collapse within days because most of us will only work to time.

Do DOs genuinely have collections duties? AFAIK all of them are employed at the nearest MC.

Some do, ours used to although it was run as a separate operation within the same building you couldn't just apply for a vacant duty either way if any cropped up, 'fake' obstacles were placed in the way if you wanted to move over but they shifted them out to another DO about 15 miles away around 2 years ago.

We used to be the opposite, if any driving duty became vacant at our nearest MC it was advertised at our DO. Seniority was king.

Wish it was like that now, driving duties aside I thought the CWU were trying to get proper jobs in mail centres instead of using agency staff, there's at least two oldies in our DO that would transfer over if possible.

Very similar to ours, more agency staff than ever, we could probably run at an even staff if they did 4 into 3 right now.
That seems to be the plan and run with extra agency staff on top of the ones we currently have when it picks up in the next month.

It’s like it was all planned, no redundancy due to manning level being met.
But how will they recruit when rounds are put back in?

Our nearest MC is nearly 70 miles away. They don't send staff based there to do our collections, we do our own. They send a wagon from the MC to pick them up from the DO in the late afternoon.

The newer MCs cover a much wider geographical area. Typically they each replaced 3 old MCs
