mail volumes

Post by unionjack0 »

have any other offices experienced a dramatic drop in mail volumes over the last fortnight.
last saturday was probably the lightest delivery we,ve had since we,ve been on one delivery and even though the majority of us work our time its been a job to stretch the delivery out, even with taking meal breaks ,toilet breaks and any other break we can get away with
now i dont want to sound cynical but with the introduction of long and shorts and a large cut of hours in our office being discussed,is this a coincidence or are mail volumes really falling so dramatically[/img]

Packet volumes have also been down the past couple of weeks, I have put this down to it being School Holidays, no doubt we will get hammered now the schools have returned.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Actually its been a busy last 2 or 3 weeks for us - always quiet Mondays and Tuesdays now but for last 3 weeks we have been hammered Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Private packets have been quiet but Amazon, Light bulbs and MS packets have been very busy with an average 30 light bulbs boxes per walk per week.

Is your office a trial office? Well our volumes have dropped too the last couple of weeks, but we are a trial office and I think there is something dodgy going on here. Mail (mailsort in particular) is being held back somewhere.

One for David Icke i think :hmmmm
Please sir can I have more?

No not a trial office, but your right about the mail our ips time is from 6.15 till 8.00and we usually struggle to finish usually leaving a couple of yorks of mailsort, especially from wednesday onwards but for the last couple of weeks we havent sorted past 7.30 once. like i say with all these changes and hours to save it make you wonder if there aint something very strange going on

Our short days are Monday and Tuesday and these 2 days are usually quieter than the even shorter Saturdays - the 3 long days we are usually hammered now mainly with DSA stuff.

I noticed it is quiet on Monday/Tuesday/Saturday. Wednesday is average/heavy and Thursday/Friday is bad/heavy. Today was very heavy today but again it is different walk.

What we need now is proper sunshine so we can start wearing short and polo shirt and no crap jacket or trouser or raincoat.

friday saturday and today(monday) was really heavy with flats for us. I more or less work to my time every day, even on our so called quiet days.

Been Hammered quite a lot in the past few weeks, so much so that a Manager was heard to comment on how he needs more full time staff, so whose knows. Saying that if mail has dropped boy i would hate to see it really shikking down on us

Weigh everything in then go back to the MC and tell them that their figures are wrong because all the MC do is GUESS the amount of letter in a tray.
