How messed up that, as a non CWU member, I have seen the latest communiqué from the CWU whereas members are in the dark.

Here is the text of it:
The CWU are currently in negotiations to equalise new entrants terms and conditions to the level of long term colleagues in Royal Mail. The decision to introduce two-tier working was taken unilaterally by Royal Mail in 2022 and the CWU have campaigned against it from day one.

We have now secured an agreement with the new owners of Royal Mail to equalise terms and conditions via the creation of a new career pathway.

The first step will be agreed in September with the whole pathway agreed by December.
These negotiations are complex. We need to maximise every single piece of leverage we have. It is crucial that all new entrants join the union. If Royal Mail know we are organised and united in our demands then we can force the company to go further and faster than they plan.

WHAT WILL EQUALISATION MEAN FOR NEW ENTRANTS?
1. Reduction in the working week for full time employees (40 hours to 37 hours) with no loss of pay.
2. Part time new entrants they will receive an additional pay rise as the hourly rate will increase.
3. You will receive paid meal reliefs. This would deliver a further reduction in the working week of up to 3 hours 20 minutes for a full time new entrants. This would be pro rata for part time colleagues.
4. You would also receive the functional supplements currently £29.35 per week in deliveries and £11.40 in processing.
5. You would get the inner London Weighting payment if applicable.
6. You would be eligible to apply for scheduled attendance.
7. Your contact of employment will be strengthened.
8. You would be entitled to recruitment and retention payments if applicable in your area.

We now have a very small window to deliver on equalisation for new entrants in Royal Mail. It is vital you play your part by taking the following two steps:
1. Join the CWU today.
2. Ask all of your colleagues to do the same.
We will keep you fully informed on the progress on the negotiations. Together we will create a fairer and more positive workplace.

So it's unsolicited then.

The CWU are posting similar updates on Facebook but listing them in individual posts rather than as a full list, so it does seem likely to have been produced by the CWU media team. Given RM have just announced they've managed to make a £12m profit it's hard to believe the CWU really expect RM to pay nearly £200m p.a. extra each year to new starters.

It is produced by the CWU. I saw the full list somewhere in the style of a cwu poster with pink/purple background and fonts they use on their official stuff.

Hopefully they're going to keep their word and get the first step implemented this month. I'm only a member just in case i need them in the event of my job being threatened by any unwarranted skulduggery from management such as facing the sack unjustly

The words are from CWU leaflets that have been produced to try to recruit the post 2022 contracts. Nothing is agreed. It's all just a wishlist. Dont give the CWU a penny until it all happens. The idea that joining strengthens the CWU's bargaining position is nonsense. No union walks into negotiations and start gobbing off about it's density. The employer knows how many workers are in a union because the CWU demands workers use the check off to pay subs. The CWU have a recruitment and retention crisis. Instead of false advertising the CWU could become a rank and file led independent fighting back trade union. That would encourage workers to join.

Good luck with that. Remember what the CWU managed to achieve for the reps sacked in the last dispute.

It was written by the Comms department. The CWU have issued propaganda to try to recruit the post 2022 contracts. It's all just a figment of Chris Webb's imagination.
