Residents in a remote Dorset village have raised concerns about a delivery company as packages have been dumped at locations around the area - including a village three miles away.
Toller Porcorum residents have been facing problems with having packages delivered to the village by the company Evri, and say they have been losing hundreds of pounds as they can't get a refund.
A number of deliveries were unsuccessfully carried out recently by the company with residents in the village left confused at where their package has ended up, with some reportedly turning up in nearby villages.
Baffled by the proof of delivery - which residents claim is nowhere near their address - most residents are unable to claim a refund as the package has been registered as 'delivered' by the courier.
Zoe Phillips, who has had packages delivered but is unable to find them, said: “I’m waiting for one to turn up today which should have been here yesterday.
"Some parcels over the weekend said they had been delivered but they’ve been put somewhere else not around here, and I’ve got no clue where my parcels are and I’m still waiting on a refund.
“I’ve never really had an issue with any delivery company but at the moment I’m losing £200 worth of parcels and I’m fed up with them now.”
Georgia Frances and her boyfriend have also had issues with packages being reported as delivered over the weekend but this is nowhere near their address, as she presumes they are somewhere in the village. One proof of delivery photo is a picture of her package with a bush behind it.
She said: “I can't get a refund on the packages as it shows as delivered, so Evri has got away with it. It’s so shocking but what can we do.”
A resident who had goods delivered through Evri from Asos has managed to claim a refund as hers was not delivered correctly, with the proof of delivery on a country road. She said: "It is so frustrating as I live in the middle of nowhere too so I really rely on deliveries sometimes."
A resident whose package didn’t arrive at her house, and could also be somewhere in the village said: “It’s been really difficult recently not being able to have anything delivered to the house just in case it doesn’t arrive which it usually doesn’t. I’ve lost nearly two hundred pounds worth of products.”
Another Toller resident said: “The last six months packages have been going awry and it’s really hard to speak to a real person at the company.
“I was supposed to get a delivery at 9pm a few Saturdays ago and it didn’t appear again. A week later, I saw the driver on his route and as he was leaving the village I stopped him and he handed the parcel over so he knew it was there in the van. It’s a standing joke in the village.
“I know of one lady who gets her medication delivered but it was dropped to a holiday home three doors down."
Debbie Semmens, who lives in one side of the village said she had an issue that was only resolved by another resident coming forward to get in touch on Facebook that it was at their house, in the other end of the village - with the only connection being that they both live at a number 83 in the village.
She said: “It was delivered to a house, not a bungalow, on the other side of the village and luckily someone got in contact to say it was there. We’re all left guessing- it’s absolutely ridiculous and I’m surprised at Evri.”
Neil Farmer, chair of the Toller Porcorum Parish Council, said: “Residents have been very angry about this and we know it is not an isolated incident. We have only used Evri the once luckily, but from what I have seen stuff seems to be appearing anywhere and everywhere.
“I know one person who posted that their post was lost in Toller when it was in Cattistock. It seems the staff have not delivered it properly and it’s just bizarre.”
According to the delivery company, this area is currently serviced by a third-party provider and Evri are "closely monitoring the situation to ensure service improves."
An Evri spokesperson said: “We are very sorry that some of the recent deliveries in the village haven’t met our expectations.
"We are working closely with this courier and monitoring the situation to ensure service improves. Any customers that need help, can contact us via chat or phone.”
