You seem to have misread the ballot. You were voting for a pay rise. You are getting more money. It is a rise in pay.
At the end of 3 years our pay will be worth less than it is now

Love to hear you explain how that's a pay "rise"
Because you are getting more money than you were before. You can’t blame the state of the economy, the scandalous situation with our utilities companies being destroyed by overseas hedge funds and other bill rises on the CWU, Royal Mail or ‘Yes’ voters.
Nonsense. It's everything to do with our jobs as posties being valued as way less than they once were because, you guessed it, privatisation.

The union might well be a shadow of it's former self and I say that as someone who's only been here 4 years but your deluded if you think you'd be getting annual pay rises let alone better pay rises if the union wasn't a thing.

If your wages are worth less than they were before, is it a pay rise?

Simple yes or no is fine.

What are you on about? You will be getting more money after this vote. I couldn’t be clearer. YES. Big letters for emphasis. On the flip side, were you better or worse off before receiving a pay rise that gives you more money a week for doing your job?

Simple yes or no is fine.

The payrise has already been wiped out by inflation and it will be diminished further once Rachel from accounts announces her budget.

Did I blame the CWU for Labour's destruction of the economy?

I would love to go back to value of our pre privatisation wage. We earnt less of course. But it bought more back then because it was worth more. The point of a payrise is to at least maintain our buying power and counteract the cost of inflation. If this slippery slope continues we will all get to the point where we can no longer pay our bills and do things we enjoy, that we once were able to do on a full time royalmail wage.

How is it not a pay rise? Your pay has increased. It isn’t Royal Mail’s responsibility to ensure you can buy your shopping. As milly says, blame the government for f***ing up the country.

Yes it's most definitely a rise, a bit more would have been nice I suppose, I'm starting to steer towards the 'we'll be on min wage soon' gang it's looking increasingly likely maybe not in the next two years but it's certainly getting closer.
