The sad muppets still think that they're going to use their plasma screens to re-educate us wayward posties into accepting Uncle AL's vission of the future
Lets hope that our leaders "Hinge & Bracket" have a copy of the Times appointments page.....they may need it before any of us

Re: Yet still they lie................
So 20,000 strike breakers don't think it worth the bother of joining the union eh? If I had my way, they would all be on a 44 hour week, six days a week for £1.50 an hour. That way they won't have to soil their hands with the things us union members have won for them over the years. I wouldn't want them to have their consciences bothered by the idea that the few decent thinks they still enjoy in this job have all been won by us.Mr. Auburger wrote:Check out the RM website's responce to the ballot........

Barbecue time
When we were out at the gates on a local dispute a couple of uears ago we were out in the middle of winter - this time our barbecue will be much more fun - shorts, raybans and a bit of beach boys in the background - of course we would rather it didn't come to that - but if the man says party - then party good.

A message from Dave Ward (DGS)
Dear Colleagues,
Today postal workers across the Royal Mail group have had their say – not through the company’s discredited employee involvement programmes – but in the most powerful way of all – through a democratic ballot for strike action. You have rejected the company’s arguments – rejected their plans for the future – and delivered an overwhelming vote in support of your union. The key issue in this dispute remains the unacceptable cuts in postal services – cuts in postal jobs - and attacks on your terms and conditions.
We say to the public the threat to the very future of your postal services is real.
Royal Mail’s plans include 40,000 job losses – later deliveries - reductions in collections – reductions in weekend service. The closure of delivery offices and mail centres – and the destruction of the rural and crown office post office network. The public knows you are decent people – and just want to get on with your jobs - but you have told us that you really have had enough of the way you are being treated by Royal Mail.
All we want for you is decent well paid jobs and the ability to provide the public with the highest possible service standards. Because we care about the service there will be no immediate announcement for strike action – we want an agreement – not a strike for the sake of it.
So we will give Royal Mail a further opportunity to back-off from their cuts and come back to the negotiating table with a fresh approach. However - if Messrs Leighton, Crozier and Cook choose to ignore the workforce and press on regardless with their plans we will see the first national postal strike in over 10 years.
The size of the yes vote and Royal Mail’s hostile behaviour makes this an even more serious dispute. You can be proud of your efforts – and proud that our members have so publicly put their faith in this union.
The CWU is ready for the challenge.
We will provide responsible and determined leadership. We will win this dispute – defend postal services – and build a successful future for our members.

where do we go from here?
I now hope that this result will stop or slow down the maddening erosion of the Post Office network, And if we have to strike I know it wont be easy, Just hope that the union opt for a series of one day strikes that cause maximum disruption at carefully planned days ie Sat first week, Then a Mon the next week. I don't think anyone in this age of morgages and credit can afford to lose a full weeks wage. But just remember if it costs us £50 a week It costs Royal mail millions in fines, Just food for thought!
