And why would I say no to a pay rise? Yes please I’ll have a pay rise why do I need to vote on that?
Because other people do not think the pay rise is enough so you get to vote yes if you think it's enough or no if you don't
So you think if we vote no we’ll get a better offer?

On what grounds? We’re not going to strike if we don’t get a better offer and I doubt RM are quaking in their boots at the thought of a CWU strongly worded letter

I can imagine it now

Please sir can we have some more sir
Yours sincerely
The CWU

I doubt RM even consulted the CWU about the pay rise they probably just told them here’s our plan to attract more staff and the CWU saw an opportunity to take the credit for it to justify their massive salaries whilst actually doing sweet bugger all

You will never get anything if you just accept what is given.

It's entirely up to you how you vote, if you think it's a good deal you know which way to vote

Is it odd that we haven’t heard a word about the pay offer, from our new leader or the new board? Is that usual?

Good question, the media and papers say he's called the sphinx because he doesn't give many interviews etc,he's really leading us isn't he.

That’s not entirely true I’ll get what’s being offered if I accept what is given

If I reject the offer what guarantee do I have that RM won’t just retract all offers

I mean they’re realising due to the failed USO trial offices that they’re not going to make as big savings as they had anticipated

They could just leave legacy staff on the pay rate we’re already on and equalise new starters pay to attract more staff instead of giving us all a pay rise

What’s stopping them from doing that?

I'm not asking or telling you which way to vote, you make your own decision and accept the outcome which going back to your original point is why there is a vote

Aggravating an entire workforce bar the new starts? You'd have serious discontent which the union would tap into and suddenly people would see sense in striking.

Many people will be voting yes not because it's a good deal but because they have zero faith in this union going back in and getting us better. There will also be no appetite to strike after last time.

Last dispute we went on strike plenty of days and still ended up having to make concessions to our terms and conditions. We ended it worse off than we started. Both the union and it's members lost and we had to be grateful because Royal Mail apparently wanted to take more off us.
