The state pension of currently £9,300 will kick in from 67, but I'll obviously lose the supplement(total of about £1,600) at the same time.

I'm currently 59 and my state pension forecast at NRA67 is £12,014.12 per year. Why is yours so low?
This thread was started in 2021 when the 'full rate' of the state pension was £179.60 per week /£9,339.20 per year.

It's now 2025 and gone up to £230.25 / £11,973.

Yours is a bit higher than that because you presumably have some SERPS/S2P from a previous employment, which you are allowed to keep even if it takes you over the 'full rate'.

Mine is the "basic" new state pension which is £230.25 per week. Your assertion that this is £11,973 per year is incorrect as you have used a multiplier of 52. It's actually 52.179 which is the standard approach and allows for leap years. You will see this on your personal forecast. £230.25 per week, £1,001.81 per month or £12,014.12 per year.

Yes, I should have been taking more notice! :thumbup

Although it might be worth noting that state pension is paid either weekly or 4 weekly.

I don't get a figure for 4 weeks on my personal forecast....only weekly, monthly or yearly.

The state pension is usually paid every 4 weeks, but you can choose to have it weekly instead if you want. There are no other options as far as I'm aware.

Every 4 weeks means 13 payments per year.
