If you mean wave 2 mech, we band up every walk apart from the occasional one that's a little too much to be banded up.

Probably means wave 1, we stopped getting wave 2 mech ages ago it all comes manual, if it's busy then it gets rolled over despite it containing things mixed in such as Moonpig tracked cards, no f***s are given these days.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 11:43If you mean wave 2 mech, we band up every walk apart from the occasional one that's a little too much to be banded up.

We still do wave 2 mech, which is walk sorted. Normally a box per batch, the odd batch will be two boxes. It varies how much gets extracted by the DTS.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 12:52Probably means wave 1, we stopped getting wave 2 mech ages ago it all comes manual, if it's busy then it gets rolled over despite it containing things mixed in such as Moonpig tracked cards, no f***s are given these days.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 11:43If you mean wave 2 mech, we band up every walk apart from the occasional one that's a little too much to be banded up.
When your wave 2 arrives, what colour are the tray labels?

Parcels through the roof, collections have gone mad the last few weeks.
What are the changes between RM and Parcelforce?

No this is wave 1. Today I had 1/4 of a tray. Of the two duties I share, I always tend to get less mail than my partner, but it is very worrying indeed if it has genuinely dropped off this much. I know summers always were lighter before, but recent years haven’t really dropped off to the same degree. Parcels are still through the roof, so enough work to fill the day.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 11:43If you mean wave 2 mech, we band up every walk apart from the occasional one that's a little too much to be banded up.

We need to know because it is draining when most of the items are heavy. Can be like working in removals at times.

I've seen mech bundles recently in which a single letter is present. Not that it translates to an easy day. It's not like we're off the street for 11 on a Tuesday - mainly because we're not even on it yet.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 11:43If you mean wave 2 mech, we band up every walk apart from the occasional one that's a little too much to be banded up.
The machine stops.

I feel I'm having a good day if I have 3/4 of a tray, how can a duty just get a 1/4 of a tray?LouBarlow wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 15:13No this is wave 1. Today I had 1/4 of a tray. Re: Parcels through the roof, Mondays now very busy
Stacks of Amazon crap. One drop today had 7 items, 2 of them were huge and heavy, in the standard laughably flimsy cardboard boxes. Even the customer was apologetic. (Stop buying crap you don`t need/have room for, luv.) How are we supposed to deliver all the Amacrap, do collections, and do our walks in our tiny shared vans.? Not doing two journeys. They`ll have to send out the overtime hounds to do it in the afternoon.LouBarlow wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 15:13No this is wave 1. Today I had 1/4 of a tray. Re: Parcels through the roof, Mondays now very busy
It is probably just the makeup of my duty. It is mainly a combination of wealthy older people, and newer estates with young families and a ton of foreign workers. The newer estates can often get more parcels a day than letters, whereas the older wealthier areas get slightly more letters but less parcels. It is a decent balance. My partner’s duty gets probably double the mail I do though.TopperGas wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 19:51I feel I'm having a good day if I have 3/4 of a tray, how can a duty just get a 1/4 of a tray?LouBarlow wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 15:13No this is wave 1.
