I definitely do not agree. That comment you have quoted is based on 1 single day that was extremely light. We've had 2 days like that all summer. Most summer days you can finish ~20 minutes early if there was no lapsing.

Anyone with sense would want a 'job and finish' setup - a fair duty size, single mail, no lapsing, go home when you are done. Shorter summer days, longer winter days. Most people who wouldn't want this are those who have kids to pick up.

The only way RM would go for your 'job and finish' is that if you got SISO paid for hours worked. You get paid up to the point you finish.

That will happen soon, in fact delivery will be put onto the best cost saving contracts ie Amazon within 5 years. Everything will be contracted out and all UK commercial property will be sold off for cash money and leased on tick. Billionaire accounting

One of the postcode areas in my office still delivers all of the Amazon work rather than them using their own drivers. There is usually upwards of 200 Tracked on a shared van in this area, nearer 250 on a Wednesday and Thursday. In contrast, The rest of the office without the Amazon contract usually has around 100 Tracked on a shared van duty.

What is the CWU views on that? Does that specific town have shorter walks? Sounds absolutely scandalous.

It's not even a separate town, just a part of the main town we deliver to with a particular postcode. These walks didn't have as much added on to them as the rest of the town in the last "fag packet" revision, but they're still unachievable every day (as are most of our other walks) and just have more letter mail left in the frame each day than the others.

It'll be interesting to see what the forthcoming ODM changes will bring if the idea is to clear all due mail streams every day. To achieve that goal they're going to have to make serious changes to walk sizes and add at least a couple of new ones. I have little reason to expect that the planners and managers will get it right.

We had a meeting today to say that as from Monday, we will, in delivery, be collecting and delivering Parcelforce items. Apparently if they are too heavy or too large you can refuse to take the collections, not sure about if you can refuse to deliver them. There won’t be many

Parcel force have a weight limit of 30kg for their services. I will not be lifting 30kg. We haven't even got any equipment for carrying large heavy loads.

If you press the item your collecting on the PDA it should come up with the weight on the screen
