What we need is an alternative union method. The current one is useless.

We're now back at the stage where actually it's going to save enough just saying Mon-Fri working as normal (cull 2c to finish on time yourself) and only deliver 1c and tracked on Saturday by an OT crew/new contracts/agency

More than enough savings and we all get every Sat off if we want it or do easy parcel OT if we want to boost our income.
Always thought they should have started off with Saturdays as parcels only. Just to see how it goes. Then down the line they could maybe add a wednesday to it. U would still have 4 full delivery days. Better than the proposed USO change where in every second week Ur only delivering 2 days full van shares.
Think they're moving way too fast.

Off topic but I am sick of light and heavy, seasonal variation etc etc. All days need to be the same length for anything to work. Have you seen the leave the mess is in now it is all in hours, seasonal variation, 37 hour contract, one week is 37 hours, one week is 39 hours, one week is 35 hours, a day isn't even a day anymore. Somebody on the maximum leave gets 222 hours, under all this stupid nonsense almost everybody has hours they are unable to take, even if it is 2 hours you are contractually allowed to take it, try doing that in a delivery office. Union want to be doing something about it, I reckon bulk claim to the industrial tribunal might get RM's arse kicked back a bit on this. A day should be a fixed amount of hours if they want leave in hours.

I think what a lot of posters on here don’t realise is that a pilot is a trial to see what works and what doesn’t.The usual suspects on here will completely ignore that of course and scream at every opportunity about nothing working. How about be patient and let the TRIALS run their course. They would be the first to kick off should the CWU sign it off as a success when it clearly isn’t right now.

Hidden in today's CWU live, MW slipped in that they are now actively looking at a different model for USO with updates to follow!

Do they really think after 6 months of planning and shiny new playbooks and booklets telling us what Bob, Evie and Ahmed are going to be doing that RM are suddenly going to say, let's hear about your alternative idea.

I've heard a few at the top and some area reps are privvy to the new idea.....anyone care to share it with us so we can tell you why this won't work either?
We were told today it's 9 duties into 8. Which sounds a lot like lapsing.

Yes, I’ve heard a few things. The gist of it as follows:

‘We are delighted to begin a pathway to expand the role of the postal worker via the medium of opportunities presented by EP group and delving deeper into invigorating new approaches to better explore the market. Stakeholders and partners will benefit greatly and developing such markets will result in the knock on effect of increased rewards and trust within the structure of the business both internally and externally which will seek to fulfill the objectives of the service targets, while maintaining a fair and manageable workload within the confines of a new resourcing model. Further information can be found in our 724 page LTB 62/10/22/17/ABC/DOREMI/96644#33’
