Re: Uso agreement
The long and short is that the CWU signed up to ODM. That was a decision of the bag avoiders who've not done the job for a very long time, taken in arrogant isolation. There is no way out for the CWU, it's stuck with ODM. Workers have a way out - ditch the CWU and start a Union of their own.
The authors of every protest letter have all in the last few months told workers that ODM was the future, even when workers said it was not. Ward and Walsh told workers they were wrong. The authors of the scottish protest letter told workers there was no alternative. Workers are not going to give this any credence. This is the CWU's mess. Leave them to it.

We need to look at the who and why of the leadership and appointments of the CWU?tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 08:38The long and short is that the CWU signed up to ODM. Re: Uso agreement
It will work if Royal Mail are prepared to put the duties back in to make it work , how is that a CWU issue ? If Royal Mail aren’t prepared to do that then the CWU will not sign up to bring it in .The ball is in royal mails court .tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 08:38The long and short is that the CWU signed up to ODM. Re: Uso agreement
Not phasing it in within each office has proven to be a fatal error.
Imagine though, that after a few months it had started to work within the trial offices. It would then be rolled out nationwide with instant results expected, ignoring the time taken to get it there.

Re: Uso agreement
The only scandal is the deliberate isolation of the rank and file by every level of the CWU for decades. The mess that the CWU own has been their mess that they made for years and years. Its not a sudden creation. The CWU has allowed it to happen to keep the bag avoiders off the job.SkiSunday wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 13:37We need to look at the who and why of the leadership and appointments of the CWU?tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 08:38The long and short is that the CWU signed up to ODM. Re: Uso agreement
The CWU said everything had to be right and promptly set about agreeing to experiments that were not right. When workers told the CWU they were not right the CWU said there was no alternative. Its not up to employers to make sure a union gets it right. There is no ball. The game finished the day the CWU executive took executive action and turned their back on us.chickenwittle wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 13:38

Re: Uso agreement
The CWU have no alternative. They've told us that repeatedly when we told the CWU they were wrong. Unless you were in the room with Ward and Walsh you have no idea what they have signed off. Get them to tell you.

They are pilots.
It is not set in stone, if there isn't a way of making it work because of the parcel volumes and nuances of different office make ups then there can be other ways of achieving the new USO quality targets.

ODM can be rolled out in many different formats MR many accounts.SkiSunday wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 14:31CWU have already signed up to ODM pal. These people don’t want to hear that , they’d rather come on here and union bash , it’s boring but they love it I’m afraid.Mickeybrowneyes wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 16:18They are pilots.

The CWU and Royal Mail have shafted thee little man. If you are still making excuses for that then you are part of the problem.

If the trials prove not be to a success in the current method change there will no doubt be a change of direction.
It's a hard negotiating standpoint when the union need help the company achieve the savings required to increase O/T rates and equalise contracts with the least amount of job cuts while delivering a fair and achievable workload that doesn't lead to fatigue and reaches QOS targets.
Surely you can see that.
It's not easy.

Probably something to do with being front and centre in the decimation of OPG terms and conditions over the last decade on their watch.Mickeybrowneyes wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 18:16In what way would that be then..?SkiSunday wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 17:32Ah yes, another one of the 'throw enough shite at a wall, some of it will stick' gang.chickenwittle wrote: ↑22 Jul 2025, 16:26ODM can be rolled out in many different formats MR many accounts.
