The point was about Saturdays and if that mail will be released to the DO on a Saturday as Saturday is part of the current 5 day limit or if it will be excluded from the 5 day limit because no 2nd class is delivered on a Saturday

I think my confusion has come from you only now changing it to Friday night meaning Sat mail where before you were just saying Friday which I took as mail to be delivered on Friday.

Mail released Thursday night is delivered Friday. Mail released Friday night is delivered Saturday. That's how it's always been and won't be changing.

I think he means it will be released to units on a Saturday morning as now but we won't be delivering it as it's not 1c, so it'll either sit in the unit till Monday, or be sent back with distribution to the MC.

We'll send it straight back. Once any mail has been released by the DTS it can't be put through again, higher up monitor how much mail that should have been delivered by a DO gets run through a CSS again. Question would be asked of management in both the DO and MC, the MC will have sequenced it like they are supposed to and dispatched it like they are supposed to so it'll be management at the DO who get the bollocking form higher up.
