That's been my experience too!
I don't invest in Shariah with my RM AVC(Flexiplan), but I do have a fairly small sum in a Shariah fund via my equity ISA.

After a drop of around 20% or so after Trump first announced his tariffs, that has now regained it's losses and is roughly where it was beforehand.

One of the main rules of investing - there will be swings and roundabouts all the time...just have to deal with it and ignore it.

I am in the process of trying to transfer my Shariah AVC's to an another provider's SIPP (do not get me started on that !!!!!!)

I made good money in this fund. I switched to the cash fund in late 2023 as I am taking my benefits soon, so wanted to reduce risk.

If i was investing for 5 years, I would be back into this fund as I think long term it will do well.

There is still plenty of downside in equities. I won’t be investing in the Nasdaq 100 or the spiders ANYTIME soon ! Any fool could see the American market was overpriced… and it still is !
I’m expecting another 20 to 30% drop ! Central banks have been greedily buying up gold. If you don’t know why,I suggest you do some research  It ain’t rocket science.
Up now sorry you missed it

Circa 395 tonnes at $276 dollars per ounce… not Brown’s best financial decision. It was half of the UK’s gold stockpile 25 years ago.

Gold is currently trading at around $3320 per ounce !
It was a mistake but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Ultimately it only cost us £10-12 billion if you look at what that money went onto be invested in compared to if it had been kept in gold.

Brown also announced months in advance the gold sale therefore reducing the price even further. Also he ended the tax free dividend payments in pension funds which almost killed private pensions. And what's scary he is considered one of the better Labour chancellors. Much better than the present occupant. God help us.
Most fair minded financial analysts agree that Brown dealt rather well following the 2008 crash.
