So, if the DPR's are going, that means one of two things

1. Royal Mail are scrapping the idea of taking parcels later off the customer, which was the idea of DPR's, because it would reach DO's later, or....

2. Much later start times

As someone posted earlier in the thread you need DPR duties for offices with HCT duties, we had them when we still had bikes and it carried over with some tweeks when the bikes went.

The afternoon DPR at ours mop up what's been left and cover LAT delivery

Surely at those office the DPR duties become "Evie's" duties and have to deliver the Tracked & 1c mail etc?

Apart from the LATs all the Tracked arrive at DO's on the last wagon in the morning, although our DPR drivers never started that late, so perhaps the late DPR duties aren't affected?

You put the DPRs in, the DPRs out, in, out, in, out, shake it all about and get paid a fortune while the service circles the drain.
The machine stops.

This thread just highlights that every single office has a different way of working. I don’t know how big these offices are in which the DPR duties are being scrapped, but where I work,it would be unthinkable, the place would logistically collapse without them. We serve a population of 170,000,don’t know exact number of walks, maybe 120. Serviced by 19 DPR duties taking on average 120 packets each off them every day. The walks can’t cope now,few are ever clear,so the thought of dumping over 2,000 packets back on them every day is laughable. DPR is vital.
14 miles up the road we have a tiny office serving a population of around 5,000. Don’t know how they operate, but this just highlights the vast difference throughout the country.

Probably down to what the RODs have decided will be done in their area.
