They finally changed it - makes sense, saves time... you can type in the name while you wait for them to make their slow-arsed way to the door then search for keys. Hand them the PDA then photo the parcel before handing it to them. or even take photo as they sign.
How do you know which of the occupants is coming to the door, not everyone in the same household has the same surname.

Photo as they sign...? With a second PDA?

Definitely, mind you if you put whatever it says on the parcel and it's incorrect then you still haven't lost any time as opposed to not putting anything

Yep, those that take the longest to get to the door are the doorways with absolutely no protection from the sun or the rain!

If only there was a big black dot or something come up on the pda to warn them.....
Come on it can't be that easy.

And if only they had (18+) when it's an Age Verification!

That would be great, imagine if they introduced such a forward thinking prospect it would help prevent people getting into trouble for just posting items that required signatures when they had no idea they were necessary or these new fangled age verification items when you only find out after you've handed them over

Apparently it was due to the company listening to feedback from posties. which explains why everyone I've spoken to hates the change :chuckle
Why didn't they consult employees years ago before ever implementing things as they were? The irritation stems from muscle memory clashing with yet another seemingly random decision mandated by people in far off places.

Since practically everything requires a photo now, why not extend the highlighting to other colours rather than constantly see yellow around every barcode? Red/pink for AV items and green for recorded and international signed for, for example. Free ideas, Dan!
The machine stops.

How can you do that when they have to sign it before you hit confirm which prompts the camera?

Whats happening now is the customer signs, u forget to take the picture and they've shut the door already! Absolutely nonsense, it's like they come up with new ways to slow us down every week.

Im sorry but why is it anybody else's fault but your own if youve given the customer the parcel and forgotten to take a picture after the very first time that happens? Cmon now :chuckle

WTF is this cr*p. Only found out today when scannned a parcel , signiture required customer signs takes parcel and shuts the door , i push enter then the picture required comes up so i just take a picture of the door . Who comes up with this rubbish ??? Obviously someone who has never had to do a delivery
RM just putting one more little bit on to us, hoping we won’t notice then we can’t complete the round, do your lapsing, and managers roll their eyes and always have an excuse, why we should be able to complete. After my day off I always come in to two days mail. D2D’s not done when off. I have always wanted to complete my round even if it meant going over my time. NOT ANY MORE
