What's the deal with being expected to complete a full delivery while third trimester pregnant in a heatwave when it's 28/29 degrees outside and god's only knows how hot inside the van with no Aircon and no breeze?

How are we expected to do this? What should be happening?
Without going sick and being forced onto maternity leave early?
Important advice for CWU Members with underlying health conditions and
pregnant colleagues:
Individual members who have pre-existing and underlying health conditions, who take
medication, and colleagues who are pregnant face an increased risk when working in
extreme heat. It is therefore advisable that these members approach their relevant
manager to discuss any concerns they currently have. These discussions should
cover any current concerns and what individual support or duty adjustments might be
needed in the event of a MET Office weather ‘Amber Warning’ (or higher warning) for
heat.
Discussion on needed duty adjustments must be made with the individual’s agreement
and be confidential. Additionally, any agreed adjustment should be recorded on the
Severe Weather Duty Adjustments Form.
For members who require these measures, it is vitally important that they also seek
CWU support and assistance.
"why should it just be the bankers, politicians and the idle rich who get all the best things ? we demand a standard of living for our members that enables them to share in the fine wines and times that the likes of Cameron and his Eton buddies take for granted " - the late great Bob Crow RIP.

So people who aren’t in the union can just drop dead

What the hell are you talking about you spanner ? If you have serious problems with the heat, whatever it might be , have a
the conversation with a Manager . In those circumstances , it matters not one iota if you are in the Union or not ....

Royal Mail has a legal duty of care to all its employees, regardless of union membership. This duty stems from general employment law and health and safety regulations, not from union agreements.

What Duty of Care Means in Practice Royal Mail must take reasonable steps to:

Ensure a safe working environment (e.g. PPE, vehicle checks, dog bite protocols)

Minimise risks through training, supervision, and proper equipment

Respond appropriately to health concerns, including mental health and stress

Avoid discrimination or unfair treatment, whether someone is in the CWU or not

Just ignore him. He is only here to troll and get a response. He is so desperate for attention that he has had at least 4 accounts on here after the previous three were banned.

They should have a duty of care but they do nothing. Just expect you to take it all and do what you can.
It's disgusting and dangerous where it could literally cause a death down the line. They think if you survive the day then it's all fine and you're being a knob. But who knows what hidden damage it's causing.
I'll just have to dynamically risk assess myself. Since the risk assessment is a waste of time. Though I will push to have it ammended but I doubt anything will change.

Nuit , Go to this page https://ukhsa-dashboard.data.gov.uk/wea ... ?type=heat
If you work in the Yellow Area , raise your Concerns with your Manager regarding your condition and also speak to your Union Rep . The RM has Duty of Care regardless of whether you are in the Union or not . Make sure they are aware of the consequences .
Have a look at the Employment Right Act 1996 Section 44 Health and Safety Cases. It is a little known Act which you can use .
