LETTERS from residents on Kenilworth's Guy Road, which went undelivered and were allegedly stashed away by a postman in the town, will be delivered this week.
The now former Royal Mail employee has been dismissed from his role after a stack of post, belonging to a number of people on Guy Road, was found in his possession.
Royal Mail have not released many details but have confirmed that an employee from Kenilworth Delivery Office had been dismissed after a quantity of undelivered mail was recovered.
The mail was due to be delivered to the intended recipients on Wednesday this week.
Jane Thomas of Royal Mail said: "We have a zero tolerance approach to any dishonesty and that stance is shared by the overwhelming majority of postmen and women, who are honest and hardworking and who do all they can to protect the mail and deliver it safely.
“We will always seek to prosecute the tiny minority of people who abuse their position of trust.
“We we cannot add any more as an investigation is still ongoing.â€
