So a 4.2 % pay rise for all but if the new contracts were to be equalised in the coming 6 months to a year , in essence thats the guts of a 17/18 % pay rise.
Not bad and yet the “Legacy workers” who have funded this union are again shat on.

They will be right if delivery staff regularly work overtime to clear the extra work. Just work your hours and get the Union to support you (one thing they are competent in) if you feel undue pressure is being exerted to make you work regular overtime. While managers can ask us to work reasonable overtime on a heavy day they cannot ask nor expect us to go over 45 minutes every day - that is unreasonable. Also, work at your own pace or within your own pace - his is a physical job that wears the body down - absolutely nobody can tell you that you are not in pain and that is why you are working slower.Crowseer wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 11:36SPOT ON. They can increase it to 6 years and £50k lump sum but you can’t simply decide you want to leave. They will just offer surplus staff crappy jobs in other offices and shake you out of the tree rather than offer VR. The improved sick pay is meaningless as that will be agreed after the pay deal vote. The devil is in the detail. Not much detail.
This agreement is too vague. Decoupling USO reform from the pay deal is good and bad. Once the sham offcom report (that the top echelons of the business have known the result of since it was announced) gets released the EP group will bring it in saying they have no choice to do it to “save the future of Royal Mail”. This would tie in with the fact numerous offices outside the trial have been given notice of their office going live in September. RM aren’t going to rock the boat on the USO as the report hasn’t been released so they’re happy to let the union make demands on how the trials are going. Once the USO shackles have been removed they will do what they want. The reforms have been planned for over a year and there’s no mileage in fighting the union at this point. They’re hoping the workforce will be happy with their £15 pay rise and suck up the 30% increase in workload. The sad thing is, they’re probably right.
This pay offer has to be considered hand in hand with the broken terms of the last terrible deal ie the end of lapsing and reduction in the working week. The wriggled out of both of those so don’t get too excited about the yet to be agreed terms.

What a depressing read in the many pages above from the self-entitled lot espousing the infamous “blue shirt mentality”, as we Red Shirts (new entrants) call it. Blue shirts have never had to contend with the level of workload that Red Shirts deal with daily. Irrefutable fact.

Just work your time. Only go over if you want the extra money. If a manager gets out of hand with how they are speaking tell them this conversation is stressing you out - if they have any degree of common sense they'll back off quickly.Chelseablue wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 16:55Same years before i got near getting own duty. The only irrefutable fact is that you are a divisive poster. Noted this long ago.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 16:58What a depressing read in the many pages above from the self-entitled lot espousing the infamous “blue shirt mentality”, as we Red Shirts (new entrants) call it. Ask some of your colleagues what is was like during the pandemic - (if you are on speaking terms; I would imagine you are avoided by some if you are as corrosive in person as you are on here) - the workload was twice what it is now - delivery supplements from 2 months ago and boxes of IPS from days ago sitting around on the floor, frames so stuffed that no more mail could fit in. Getting out on delivery at 11am.
But never let real verifiable facts get in the way of an agenda.

Out of the 5 days I’ve worked so far this week, I’ve done 4 different walks, but then I’ve only been here 25 years. Wish I worked in one of these “new starts” offices where we legacy staff have such any easy job.thefox wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 14:25Most of the people talking about this who are on legacy contracts want the new starts equalised the problem is them thinking the have the right not to get moved around or seem to have a beef with seniority. Not so much divide and conquer it's more stop thinking your the only ones to have had a hard time when you first start.

If you've been here 25 years I assume it's your own option to still be a reserve as I doubt all the regular duties are taken by staff with longer service records, or are you one of the docket kings happy to clear two+ days mail every day?pinstripe wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 17:17Out of the 5 days I’ve worked so far this week, I’ve done 4 different walks, but then I’ve only been here 25 years. If a manager is falsely claiming you are not working hard enough when you are - go off with stress, let them suffer with 1 less worker and see how they like it when you aren't there. They will have to waste more time doing a back-to-work meeting and explaining themselves to you and a CWU rep as to why they are falsely accusing you of not working hard enough.stevejm wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 17:02Just work your time. Managers are bullies, they do this even though they know you work hard enough because they want you to be on your toes, rushing around or staying out on overtime, or even better - put you in a position where you go over your time but feel you can't even book overtime as you don't want further arguments....
This thing the CWU has written is titled 'Rebuilding Royal Mail - A step towards a better future'......
bull****, nothing will change. The worst thing about this company is the bullying, lying management. I don't even care about the wage. I want fair and reasonable management, but that's never going to happen. This company will forever be a toxic employer.

Not to mention mail was a lot heavier in old days not forgetting the cable and sky mags also you had a battle on your hand arguing with a manager if it was heavy and you couldn't complete unlike these days where if you can't complete you get to bring it back then of course we had to run in our own frames we never got our arses wiped like new starts who have their frames run in and pkts scanned.stevejm wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025, 17:10The only irrefutable fact is that you are a divisive poster.
