A POSTAL worker was hurt when two vehicles collided on the Padiham/Barrowford bypass.
The crash happened shortly after noon yesterday when a Vauxhall Combo Royal Mail van was turning right and a Renault Clio was in collision with the rear.
The woman driver of the badly-damaged Clio, from Blackburn, was unhurt, but the postal worker, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident happened at the long bend on the Padiham side of Higham, and the A6068 was blocked briefly.

Because it's not an Accident on Duty, it's an 'Incident' and will count on your sickness record.
If the Postie wasn't on duty at the time, why was he/she in a Royal Mail Van?
If she/he WAS on Duty, then surely this is an accident on Duty, isn't it?

Looking at the picture, how do you get the mail out of the van Sounds like wilful delay and of course having a blameworthy accident results in a warning So let me get this right, A warning for wilful delay for failing to deliver, A warning for a blameworthy accident and A warning for being injured looks like he's getting the boot

I think that's was baldrick is pointing out using irony. It seems as though the management have a different understanding, or at least the flow chart they must use does, of what is an incident and what is an accident.
I always thought that an Incident is a happening that could lead to an injury.
Whereas an accident is a happening that actually involves injury.
You trip over strapex and bruise yourself- Accident
Someone nearly steps on strapex and you report it - Incident.

ATOS will be ringing him up soon to try and get his pay stopped , obviously a " all in the mind " hyperchrondriac and malingerer , these floor supervisors are medical experts too .
RM will have a nice incredulous vague and obscure CofC charge for him as a welcome back to work .
MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.
