On the face of it a bonus scheme sounds like a bad idea especially when you work in pairs. Surely it would likely be based on clearing Tracked or clearing whole rounds, if so it will just cause problems.

One postie might be adamant in clearing every day whereas the other will want to go home on time.

Unless the bonus is £10 every day a round is cleared on top of any overtime - it isn't worth going over time. Royal Mail can't afford that so will probably offer a £1 bonus every time you clear your duty.

I thought this thread was about those little cards management have been putting up on the walls that have little talking points about USO 'reform'. One of them is about YouTube being launched in 2006 when mail volumes were at their peak, as if those two things are somehow related.

They said they had found problems with the new USO, but they have found solutions that they are working through and believe will work. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe they actually said what the problems were/are..... why not actually explain the problems and the solutions, why so tight lipped?

"I'm all for the bonus schemes, get rid of the manager's bonuses and give it to the staff - the one's who are doing the work everyday" :Applause

Plenty of guys I've worked with became managers because they

1. didn't want to be out walking 10-15 miles a day in all weathers
2. wanted more money
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

The video will brainwash you. They will tell you what you want to hear not what is really going on.

Naturally, but are the right people being promoted on merit? By most accounts (for the last forty years) the answer is no, which justifiably invites scorn.
