It's dependent on a number of factors. What is the geography and nature of the duty. How many are letter box sized. Most importantly, how much a f**k I no longer give.

Quite frankly, im sick and tired of having my integrity questioned every day due to unrealistic workloads by a f***ing useless manager. Working for RM is like being in an abusive relationship.

150 today, manager whinging because I couldn't get them all done, weren't out the door till 10am.

How many is too many for you?
Its reasonable to do the calculation. If the outdoor is 4 hrs say then thats 37 1/2 items an hour. One item every two minutes. Is it that as fair workload? The CWU say you can do 50 packets an hour.
Where do the CWU say that figure ?

Do me a favour 😩
Has anybody heard from TB following his suggestions that we only worked 12,000 steps a day?
Wouldn't even get to my first delivery point with that

If you know the streets and door numbers perfectly AND the customers hide places plus you are on an average estate (not a rural etc) then you could probably deliver around 45-50 in the hour. If you don't know the duty that well then obviously you would be lucky to do 20 per hour.
Problem is all duties are different. I work on a semi rural so there are some long drives, tight areas and that is where your time goes.

I think even with those optimal conditions you outline it’d be very difficult to hit 45-50 in an hour.

When have they ever said this.
The planners seem to think 35 an hour is fair but even that is not achievable depending on the area you are delivering to.
I think your just plucking figures out of thin air there.

Depends again.. if you had a lot of packets for the same house, eg same people ordering every day then possibly. Otherwise 20p/h is the norm

I got thrown onto area I don't know at all and was working as a sat nav driver, took me behind walls and was a total mash up, i was doing 15 drops per hour yet they wont put in an area I know like the back of my hand as I covered them as Walks, make it make sense.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I was meaning 45-50 DPs/drops per hour rather than packets per hour.

There shouldn't be a set amount that is expected to be delivered.
There is far too many variables.
Some densely populated areas in London which consist of mostly flats you can deliver as little as ten to fifteen around busy times.
Some places you need to go through two doors and get a lift before you even get to the address.
Also with these 20mph zones everywhere you go you can deliver even less.
In parts of London afternoon DPRs are a nightmare you can't deliver that many within your hours.
50 an hour, no chance.

It's just going to get worse, the ever increasing amounts of parcels and packets will soon take up nearly all our time.. We are getting packets most days now like it was around Xmas, and yet we are still supposed to be able to clear walks, no chance!. I thought Parcel force were meant to be taking more parcels off us?

Take it up with Tony Boulch. He's the one making up random figures.
