An Evri delivery driver in Wiltshire has been left needing hospital treatment after being 'severely bitten' by a dog while on duty.
The incident, which took place on Windsor Road in Calne, saw the female delivery driver bitten by a dog when attending a property.
The victim, who is in her 50s, was sent to hospital after suffering injuries to her hands, and Wiltshire Police was called.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have received a report of a dog biting a delivery driver during a delivery to a property in Windsor Road, Calne, on May 29.
“The victim, a woman in her 50s, suffered injuries to her hands which required hospital treatment."

On May 29, the same day as the attack, she stated: "Anyone who has received an ETA for a delivery from me today, my apologies, I cannot complete my round.
"I have been severely bitten on both hands by a dog."
Police have confirmed that the dog, whose breed is not known, has now been put to sleep without police involvement.
Officers claim the incident is being managed privately by the individuals involved.
“As such, we have closed our case," added a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
It's understood that Tina is not the only delivery driver facing danger in the workplace due to dogs.
Figures from the UK’s Royal Mail show that dogs bit 1916 of their workers during 2022-2023 – an average of 37 dog bites weekly.
When looking at Wiltshire specifically, Royal Mail recorded 40 dog attacks on postal workers in the SN postcode between July 2023 and July 2024.
This is the first time the SN postcode has been within the top ten locations for the highest number of dog attacks, with the number increasing by 60 per cent year-on-year from 2022/23 to 2023/24, including Swindon, Chippenham, Calne, Corsham, Devizes, Malmesbury, Melksham and Pewsey.
The delivery service now offers 'customer postcards' that can be displayed in a front window to indicate to post couriers that the property has a dog that needs to be secured before the door can be opened.
Although there is no information on Evri's website regarding the postal service's approach to dangerous dogs, several other cases of the company's postal and delivery workers being bitten have been reported across the UK.
