Re: Royal Mail/People/Robin app
Do RM really know what they could be letting themselves in for with the latter part of this sentence. I hesitate to think what could appear on the app with some of the conversations that occur in our office.....The Robin app is tailored to your role and interests.

The owners don't give a flying f**k about what us minions have to say, never mind in some shitey specialised 'postie social media' app.yellowbelly wrote: ↑05 Jun 2025, 20:22Do RM really know what they could be letting themselves in for with the latter part of this sentence. The Robin app is tailored to your role and interests.

Re: Royal Mail/People/Robin app
Just noticed a post on it by a newish starter describing how badly they've been treat by the manager.
Here's a link to it if anyone's interested.

Team Royal Mail
Middleton depot need a new manager or the manager to take a course for better understanding
I Actually love my role as a postman with the driving aspect to it I love being the face of Royal Mail delivering to customers doors
my only issue is the manager doesn’t have any compassion for his staff he’d rather belittle you and get rid of you than help you…
I started on the 22nd of April I’ve put 110% effort in every morning arriving 30 mins before my start time everyday so i could be ahead and more focused on the day
within my first week I did 2 days over time for the manager as he asked me to the first time was fairly good I didn’t do too bad for it done within a reasonable time frame… then the second day he asked again I accepted not realising how much he was setting me up to fail…. Not even a week into the job and he’d just left a York full of parcels ready to be deliever didn’t show me how to use the PDA functions properly to be able to set the route up accordingly or anything so I struggled from the get go…then 2 hours into overtime with traffic and an accident on the m60 at the time I had only been able to deliver 11 parcels out of the 45 I had in my van so at almost 6 o’clock that night I messaged the manager explaining the pda was taking me to the wrong addresses and that I was able to get completed with the traffic and that I had 4 children to go home to to put to put to bed and stuff so bad also so I took the van back to the yard … no reply from the manager he didn’t even read the text id sent
BUT THEN THE NEXT MORNING BRINGS ME STRAIGHT INTO THE OFFICE ON MY OWN TO HAVE AGO AT ME BECAUSE I WASNT ABLE TO GET COMPLETED TELLING ME I SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM IF I COULDNT DO IT!!!
i had messaged him and he choose to ignore me… yet I was to blame
bare in mind I’m 7 week into the job role and been told twice already by him to watch out because I’m still on a trial basis
Then to top off off Tuesday 3rd of June I was training another new lad on the walk I’d been put on which wasn’t easy as I’m still finding my way around the walk and finding a quicker and more efficient way of completing it, we ended up bringing 3 parcels back which I hadn’t told him about so on Wednesday 4th of June I started shiFT again me and the new lad were pulled into the office and out on the spot by the manager asking why we didn’t let him know anything even though someone had been speaking with the new lad from the sorting office, he asked why we didn’t let him know and that we f****
up because those parcels needed delivering and we should have told him as he had somebody that could have delievered them in the afternoon WHICH HE NEVER MENTIONED BEFORE WE LEFT TO START THAT DAY, he just set us up to fail sat back and watched… then Thursday 5th of June 2025 suspended me because I went in almost 50 mins early to catch up as there was 4 days mail on one walk so I wanted to get ahead again… I walked up to ask for a PDA so I was able to start scanning parcels for the route, when he told me I needed to go to the office with him and the union rep which has never been there any other time we’ve been pulled into the office.
we 3 are in the office, he tells me I need to write a statement explaining what had happened yesterday
when I went on to explain that he took the p* out of me thinking that I was taking the p
out of him, he asked “ what do you mean by that”
I replied:- well your telling me I should have text you to explain that a parcel or 2 were coming back to the sorting office but when I do text you, you never reply so why would i think of texting you when so busy
he replied that he had a job to do and that he needed to know even though I had a job to do myself delievering parcels and posting mail which is priority to myself THAT WASNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM
because I’d swore in frustration about the situation he suspended me even though on a daily basis people swear in conversation with him around him and to others he does it himself but never suspends anybody else…
I just feel he targeted me in the work place for no apparent reason the original guy i was put on a walk with transferred last week also so he didn’t have to deal with the manager a lot of others in there are the same about this manager
he cares to much about his own wages than his workers and making sure everything is running smoothly, he will slow us all down by letting us all crack on in the morning to then at 9:30 drag us all upstairs into the meeting room for a presentation stalking us and causing us all to leave the office to star our rounds but then have ago at us day after when we couldn’t get finished!

Hi Jordan, I would suggest you Raise a Concern so this can be dealt with properly.
Andrew Esson
Well put Jordon many are very unhappy day in day out I see this all the time. This is what ROBIN is all about so all levels can take note from someone at the sharpe end
Tim Hyde
This is simply not acceptable way to treat our posties.....it would be good to understand why the manager is behaving in this way, does he know no better? Never been properly trained? If he has never had appropriate training it explains his behaviour but doesn't excuse it.
I'd be interested to know what the union rep thinks? Does this happen in this office frequently? I get the feeling you have not had the level of support of a wpc that you need?
I'd be interested to hear the outcome of this...I wonder if the HRBP for your area could help or advise?
Edward Vaughan
I’d definitely seek advice on this, be sad to go out of a job you love for the wrong reason’s, seems your training and support from day one isn’t the best, possibly the DO has issues with staff, low levels possibly adding pressure to the manager, that ain’t an excuse tho. I know my team in my area don’t have these issues, constantly supporting each other when needed and driven by two good managers (btw I’m not a manager) I hope you get things resolved and keep doing the job you love.
Here's a link to it if anyone's interested.

It’s the only reason to. None of the other crap is worth looking at.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025, 15:18"Have to"![]()
The only reason I can think of is if they make it so it's the only way to view wage slips etc instead of the people app

I'm still having trouble accessing the robin app.microsoft doesn't recognise my security questions answers. Just tells me to contact admin. And where do I go to get to my works email address as apparently they've sent me a code to it? I'm so confused.

If you go on to the people app and click on the workplace tile, your RM email and password will show.

Sorry doesn’t work for me, no password is shown, I don’t know the password as I have not used this email in 20+ yrs. it says reset password, tried that and get error occurred. Still awaiting IT helpdesk to sort out signing on problems from 2 weeks ago.
