RM Needs to get back in line with it's 1st time delivery for Everything before big businesses start looking elsewhere- I've heard that Evri are cheaper bulk sending now and RM being the most expensive- Quality these days however is just a Huge gamble with practically every delivery firm.....

It's sad really cos as a former Postie who was trained "Clear Frame, Clear Mind" drilled into our heads for so many years for that to be totally abandoned and left with "it is what it is, do what you can, try and take your lapse"......

Totally agree. RM have been saying for years that letter delivery isn’t profitable — but if that’s true, why are other couriers now interested in doing it? It makes you question RM's strategy when they have already got the infrastructure in place and others are starting from scratch. They’re walking away from the one thing that actually makes them different: a trusted, consistent national service. Cutting delivery days and hiking prices might save money now, but in the long run, they’re handing that over to competitors.

But this is all about profit. Fewer letters delivered, less staff required and the more they can charge for what's left. But all that does is make the market more attractive for others to step in and in the end we will be the ones who lose out.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Maybe because RM is abandoning the Mail market (they have been since around 2018/19 onwards) and companies that still use letter deliveries are getting tired of RM's Lazy/Stuck up attitude towards letters that they'll class it as more of a Burden rather than money.

Along with poor service now from 2021 onwards (poorly structured postal routes AKA GeoRoute killed off the correct workflow) that Tracked/Parcels are given the higher priority (Something that RM STILL deny all knowledge yet we all know the truth, - So Does CWU but I suspect that the higher positions have ALOT more shares than just their standard allocation )

All I say is this- throughout the 17 years I served, there's only one thing RM ever did to "improve" the RM service of mail, More sorting machines through the network and push up the prices of stamps......

No initiative for RM, more initiative for rival firms to go, whilst you're out in this area with parcels, take this mail. ( Cut off of RM's final mile profit too)
