Will the attendance patterns get enforced by management?
I've read a few comments from one or two of the staff in these trial offices who are on a 2in5 Saturday duty pattern where the manager is saying it's not working due to a shortage of drivers so they are trying to enforce the 1 in 6 (basically what most of us are on now).
I'm hoping the vote in each office sticks but I've a horrible feeling when all this gets pushed through it will be the managers that will choose this in the end.

CWU members are reporting they've had zero say in new rotations for Martin Walsh's sellout delivery method. You've got to feel for the wally lot who facing 50 hour plus week just to get an extra Saturday. The CWU has lost the plot.

What % of non-drivers in an office causes an issue with this?

Our union rep is straight up refusing to show us what shift patterns are available. f**k knows why the people in our office show him any support what so ever.tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 15:56CWU members are reporting they've had zero say in new rotations for Martin Walsh's sellout delivery method. Re: Will the attendance patterns get enforced by management?
To be fair, at our pilot office, the cwu and management worked together, even had some senior reps come to our office... We were offered two rotations - 9 day, 2 in 6 - we have about 15 non drivers so some rotations weren't available to us including the 2 in 5 ...

Re: Will the attendance patterns get enforced by management?
Again, to be fair, both reps and management communicated regularly on what was going on and our choices going forward ...

All options are available to view on our CWU board in my office, plenty of discussions taking place as to everyone’s preferences.

The only office coming close to the ODM working, with a decent amount of time off is the first pilot office, Newton Mearns which has all singleton duties and they all drive.
Everything else will just be bodged.

Why would they be doing 50-plus hours for a Wall week with an extra Saturday? Their current hours would be 44.24 a week for a wall week; an extra Saturday off would be for argument's sake, 7.20 divided over 5 weeks, it would be about roughly 15 minutes a day or roughly 1.30 a week, so a total week roughly of 45.54 hours. In our office, when we started wall weeks 2004, we were doing a 48 hours a week.chickenwittle wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 16:43tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 15:56CWU members are reporting they've had zero say in new rotations for Martin Walsh's sellout delivery method. Longer days to allow for Martin Walsh's sellout delivery method. They'll be going over 50 hours.short bloke wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 17:53Why would they be doing 50-plus hours for a Wall week with an extra Saturday? Why would contract variations have any effect? Those with different contracts are accommodated with singleton duties. Bug that's not what Martin Walsh has done. He's thrown anyone with a deviation under the bus.

Re: Will the attendance patterns get enforced by management?
Your not on your own. Members are reporting no involvement in any part of Martin Walsh's sellout delivery method. The whole thing is simply changing in front of their eyes.smok3y666 wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 16:47Our union rep is straight up refusing to show us what shift patterns are available. f**k knows why the people in our office show him any support what so ever.tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 15:56CWU members are reporting they've had zero say in new rotations for Martin Walsh's sellout delivery method. And for offices with little or no singleton duties?tramssirhc wrote: ↑16 May 2025, 18:19Why would contract variations have any effect? Those with different contracts are accommodated with singleton duties. Bug that's not what Martin Walsh has done. He's thrown anyone with a deviation under the bus.
