Can you explain a bit more? HCT are part of the plan everywhere aren't they? 2 people in a van 1 on foot with a HCT, the HCT may need to be the size of a small van but that's a problem RM will worry about after the changes have come in

In what way? Are they going to whip hct users to take out two walks or ‘just’ have them take out a 93% call rate every day?

Haven't given all the details but told hcts will deliver on 1 walk 3 days first week, 2 days second week - they are not going to be delivering as normal, unlike business walks that aren't included in our trial - they will deliver as normal...

I think that's been the plan from the start, a postie won't have a set "walk" as we know them now

All the plans are on here in various threads

At one point hcts were going to be exempt from the trial, but they changed their minds ...

What would they be doing on the other days? Taking another walk out. So basically they are going to be pushing a walk with double mail on it, out every day. They’ll be knackered in no time. This is why they shouldn’t be included in the pilot.

How do you exclude HCT duties from the trial if they are going to be included in the plan going forward?

If the 3 people covering the 4 walks all drive then they should be alternating instead of 1 person doing the HCT duty day after day.

Obviously we then go back to the non driver problem

They can make it up as they go along because it's going to be rolled out regardless.
The machine stops.

Correct, it's not a trial if it's already going to be implemented in August.

I get that idea so presumably there'll be an accompanying driving duty that does the parcels + 1c from the other duty plus the oversized that won't fit in the hct ?

It won’t be rolled out in August if it doesn’t save any money. There are no signs currently that it is doing that.

It will be rolled out regardless. The whole point of the trials is the same or more daily productivity from less staff. More profit/less expenditures.

Exactly. There has to be a saving. So far there is no sign of that. Only muppets would roll it out if there was no cost saving.

I imagine deep rurals and routes that deliver to solely companies (must be very few 100% business duties) will be the only exemptions.
If your route can save money/headcount by delivering 2-3-4 days mail in one go then that's what will happen.
