I wondered if anyone would post about this.

It's heavily invested in big US tech stocks and they've taken a beating, thanks to that orange prat.

I'm sure the gains you've made previously will help to outweigh the recent loses. Plus for anyone paying into Sharia via the RMCPP AVC or Nest, it's potentially a good time to invest. :thumbup

Yep it should be a good time to invest especially if you still have a long time before you want to draw on those AVCs

US Tech stocks were massively overvalued, they were bound to drop eventually to a more realistic valuation.
Gold is holding up very nicely though :thumbup

If you have years (decades even) to retire - no big deal just ignore it...worst thing you can do is panic.

In fact if you have any spare cash good time to put more in

Ditto, just chucking more into my own private investments and Child ISAs too.

Problem with that is guessing when the markets bottomed out, plus who at RM really as cash just sat in the bank waiting to be invested.

Unless your funds are heavily invested in the USA then they seem to gradually increasing back in value.

There is still plenty of downside in equities. I won’t be investing in the Nasdaq 100 or the spiders ANYTIME soon ! Any fool could see the American market was overpriced… and it still is !
I’m expecting another 20 to 30% drop ! Central banks have been greedily buying up gold. If you don’t know why,I suggest you do some research  It ain’t rocket science.

Don't mention Gold, a few people on here become very triggered.
Apparently, you can't eat it and nor does it keep you warm.
Many Central Bankers around the World seem to have turned into Tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists as they keep buying tons of the stuff.

Which Gordon Brown flogged on the cheap at the worst possible time and he also killed final salary pension schemes.

Circa 395 tonnes at $276 dollars per ounce… not Brown’s best financial decision. It was half of the UK’s gold stockpile 25 years ago.

Gold is currently trading at around $3320 per ounce !

Brown also announced months in advance the gold sale therefore reducing the price even further. Also he ended the tax free dividend payments in pension funds which almost killed private pensions. And what's scary he is considered one of the better Labour chancellors. Much better than the present occupant. God help us.

I have just done a quick calculation and the investment returns on the New Sharia AVC is now back in the black, factoring in the weekly purchase prices and monthly charges my total investment since October last year is now worth 3.7% more than I have paid in (gross not including the benefits of salary sacrifice)
My old AVC sharia is still showing an increase of 56% above the total amount invested over the 5 years I paid into it before it closed last October
