The options will be limited by things like start times, last letter time, final arrival time, FT/PT mix and non drivers.

I wouldn't set your mind on anything yet.

All non-drivers will be floats/reserves regardless of seniority, trust me.

My basic maths worked out that 90-95% of the office needs to perform driving work to open up all the available options. I guess we will find out when instead of the 7 options we get presented with 2 or 3 on a 'take it or leave it' basis.
It's pretty unfair to have the major selling point of this new way of working - up to 2 out of 4 Saturdays off - not available across the board. 2 out of 5 seems a pipe dream too.

I know Royal Mail are clueless but even they aren't stupid enough to put the non-drivers where they are of least use.
Trust me.

Is there a difference between singleton van duties and rural duties when it comes to this new way?

We have a few bona fide Rural duties, who appear to be going to be left as they are, 6 day delivery of all items. However, we also have quite a few singleton duties that have maybe 45 minutes worth of Rural on them, at the edge of villages etc. The rest of the duty is full on suburbia. Is there a threshold of what makes a duty Rural?

You might be lucky enough to get an HCT duty, if they still exist by then.

But you'll still be doing the whole 3 people covering 4 walks or whatever it is.

OH! also if your a non driver you'll be doing the walks that have double mail......everyday.
