It was introduced nationally I thought to reduce cold calling.
It had nothing to do with Delivery 2.0.
I thought Delivery 2 was the one big frame thing.
No it wasn't - if we got told to do that we'd laugh and tell them to go fu.. themselves

Re: Delivery 2.0 talk to me
Based on what I've seen years ago, royal mail's board wanted a system that was far more casual than it is now.
1 large frame. Computer tells posties how much of the large frame to take. Removes posties having their own walks.
They added more to delivery 2.0 later where u'd have a bag rack on a York. Think about 9 bags. Postie scanned a parcel and the PDA would tell which bag to put it in.
The royal mail video showed managers saying it would reduce indoor work because Ur not double handling the packet. So the managers said that would increase outdoor time. They also said it would stop the need for local knowledge.
To me it sounded like the company was creating a system for agency workers to be the norm.
It was a big fail. Think most posties didn't bother working any overtime and things were building up. But I can't find where all of that was said about the failure on this forum. Was about a year ago+.
Then EPGroup said they were buying the company. That's when everything was about the USO changes.
Looks like they're using the uso changes as a trojan to push through delivery 2.0

Don't forget that we now scan packets to yorks/sleeves in MCs. Assuming that Route Planner has in it which DPs are in which delivery loop. In theory RM now now what packets you'll have for each loop.buchanpeter wrote: ↑18 Feb 2025, 07:18They added more to delivery 2.0 later where u'd have a bag rack on a York. Think about 9 bags. With the new system each york/sleeve is "paired" with a destination office. Once that's done for each destination in a setup, we scan the 2D barcodes and the items get "allocated" to the correct york/sleeve

When the Yorks arrive they have parcels for any one of our 50 or so duties, whilst RM might know how many parcels a duty as they still need to be sorted at the DO's and it they are not scanned at the DO there's no guarantee it reached the DO.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 12:13Don't forget that we now scan packets to yorks/sleeves in MCs. When the york physically enters the building at your DO they get scanned into the DO automatically. Whatever was scanned to that york is deemed to have arrived at the DO.TopperGas wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 19:41When the Yorks arrive they have parcels for any one of our 50 or so duties, whilst RM might know how many parcels a duty as they still need to be sorted at the DO's and it they are not scanned at the DO there's no guarantee it reached the DO.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 12:13Don't forget that we now scan packets to yorks/sleeves in MCs. When your back in your DO tomorrow, look for the trio of RFID tags on the inside of the york, on the panel where the york barcode is located. You've got a scanner/reader that detects them as the york enters the building

In that case why are we still scanning every single track parcel to each duty every day?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 19:57When the york physically enters the building at your DO they get scanned into the DO automatically. Absolute disaster
Impossible to complete in your time, can only do 2 loops at most before having to go and do tracked

Which begs the question, who decides what 'section' of the frame is an accurate daily workload each and every day?

Re: Delivery 2.0 talk to me
Not really much to say, they have just made the duties pretty much double, thinking taking the big packets off us would mean we can do it, yet we haven't been doing big packed for about a year anyway. (And we weren't completing the duty before 2.0 came in)

Re: Delivery 2.0 talk to me
So you're involved in the trials and the duties are double in size?... cos you have double 2nd class mail or because they added in additional roads too?
The whole point in the USO change is to help Royal Mail survive whilst also meeting the reduced obligation....so WTF are Royal Mail doing if they are making things impossible.

Isn't delivery 2,0 different from the trials RM are currently running?

We have delivery 2.0 but it's nothing to do with the uso.norris9 wrote: ↑10 Apr 2025, 19:20So you're involved in the trials and the duties are double in size?... cos you have double 2nd class mail or because they added in additional roads too?
