Late DPR vacancies

Post by scoobydo79 »

Are any offices having trouble filling the late DPR vacancies? Sounds terrible 2pm until 8 pm. No one interested in ours. Doubt agency will want them either

2pm - 8pm is a daft time. I imagine it will be due to lack of vans, they'll need posties back to get a van.
I'd do it if it was like 11 - 5, maybe even 12 - 6.
We don't have DPR drivers at my DO but some nearby ones do.

DPR is late enough already. Anything after 6.30/7pm is ridiculus as people have kids going to bed and don't want annoyance at the door.

Why is it that some offices are having all of this nonsense forced on them at the moment. I thought there were agreed trials going on in offices but RM is happily forcing in vertical prep frames, bigger park and loop rounds and DPR 8pm finishes and the union are letting them?

The simple answer is corruption.

As most DPR drivers are on the new 30 hour contract, if you start at 14:00 the actual clock out finish time would be 20:30 to get your 6 hours plus the 30 mins unpaid break.

No thanks :arrrghhh

Delivering parcels in all the school traffic at 3pm to 3.40pm and then in the rush hours traffic from 5pm to 6pm.

Sounds like hell when managers are probably overloading you with more parcels than you can deliver in your time.

For 12.54 an hour too. You would be better off working for almost any other delivery business, other than Amazon obviously lol.

I know when I do parcels as soon as it hits 3 you want to be delivering somewhere quiet or you just won’t make any progress. Wouldn’t want to be doing it til 8 at night. I have in the past in the summer but I’m a bit old for that now.

Imagine it. Early December , pitch black and slashing down. Man says to wife “I’m not walking the Alsatian’s in this . Il let them go in the garden” Then You walk through the gate with 2 parcels balanced in your arms. You won’t know about it till they jump on you. As you say no thanks

It's not like it's a new thing, if that was happening regularly I'm sure we'd hear about it, before I open a gate I try and make sure there's no dogs around.

You could get paid 6 hours OT for delivering a York of oversized on OT and still be finished by 2pm until quite recently. The incentive is gone for doing this type of work now.

What gets me is the donuts who rush around running like lunatics and not doing the job correctly that boast Oh I did your walk in 80mins when it takes me 210mins and then a line manager gets on my back saying why do you take so long.
I tell you why, I wear a seat belt, I use this contraption connected to my waist for van keys, I actually knock at doors for tracked and wait, I actually post FULL P739 on delivery's left safe or failed.
