Who are the planners ?

Post by menditsa »

Our DO went live today with walk revisions and the new frame layout sorting top to bottom in a zig zag motion.
I'd like to know how these planners after 3 months can generate such a cluster duck.
A section of my old walk now expects the postie to go thro a persons house to gain access the gated close behind :whistle
A whole block of flats missed off the walk.
Driving past 5 locations to then come back again.
Driving thro no entry signs.
Turning left at no left turns.
My 8 year old with crayons could have done a better job.

Every revision it seems all the data that was collated in the run-up is then tossed, shredded, or burned. Years ago the company was talking about 'rolling revisons' - whatever efficiency could be gained from re-aligning walks once a year would be offset by the permanent need to dig the office out of the previous year's hole.
The machine stops.

Martin Walsh says you're a liar. It's all got to be right he says. Otherwise it won't be deployed.

It's down the column instead of across the row. Nonsense.

Here we go. Expects months of this. The CWU failing us again and again. Walsh admitted there's thousands of duties that are even accounted for.

Did this just happen, we had it 2 years ago.
Missing streets (out of spite I would kill of the mail for missing delivery points)
Walking down streets multiple times.
Walking through customers back gardens.....

Welcome to the crazy world of RM revision (with CWU backing)

I saw the last revision that was a cluster duck, this one is even worse.
If ANY postie made a duck up as big as this they would be out of the door.
These planners are a total waste of wages paid by RM.
Sack them all !!!
Get the people who know the walks involved, you know the posties, not knobheads using shite software.
And get some backbone on the floor and say the truth to those above.

The biggest pain is having 700 calls worth of double slots! On Monday/Tuesday you can either cold call an additional 40-50 calls with door 2 doors or take the time to write house numbers on the calls your not going to, making the next days prep a nightmare!

That's in addition to having 3 days mail and having to prep all the door 2 doors because there is only 4 members of staff working indoors on a Saturday, with the expectation that they will prep all the door 2 doors for over 60 walks.

We’ve never prepped D2Ds in the frames (only the lapsing one)
It’s a stupid idea and waste of time
Who thought of this - someone who’s never prepped before :arrrghhh

As the previous post said, what is your method for delivering multiple D2D?

Also I guess you are cold calling which we are told not to do

Some take a batch out with them on delivery, without prepping them into the frame. For me that’s too much faffing about, can you imagine trying to do this with 2 or more d2d’s. I had 7 last week!!
