I'm working it tomorrow, first Mother's Day at RM.
Will it be very busy tomorrow or just slightly busier than a usual Sunday?
My first Mother's day at the company too.
Have been playing catch up all week with triple mail rotating half a frame every day. Yesterday on delivery i took out half a frame and scanned through the rest picking out cards. Amongst the 2 types of flower boxes (flat ones and bigger oblong ones) and the moon pig cards, i had a handful of tracked card size enveloped letters….. is there a company that sends cards out via tracked? Got me thinking if tracked cards eventually take off then we are gonna be in trouble even more in the future.

Very slowly we're seeing more and more letters and flats passing through which are Tracked. It seems like RM are building towards having barcodes on all letters and flats, many already do. My guess is if that is their intention, that the barcodes will have the destination address encoded in the 2D barcode.

Moonpig.com offer tracked as an option on standard and large cards, it's the default for those annoying giant ones that quite often won't fit through the letterbox

RM must be expecting a fair increase over time of Tracked letters as I believe the last software update for our iLSM was the extraction of Tracked items. They wouldn't bother doing that unless they were expecting to see a big increase in the number of Tracked letters.

Yes they post very well at least haha. It’s just more tracked to sift through and sort out that’s gonna be the issue as time goes on. Can you imagine a couple of trays of tracked letters every morning.
I'm sure plenty of mother's day cards are left sat in frames or boxes across the country. The royal mail way, if it ain't tracked bring it back.
It was my rest day on Friday, my duty hadn't been covered and so yesterday with the onslaught of parcels meant that I only had time to complete tracked & 2D. No cards went at all; complete and blatant fraud and deliberate USO failure (what's new?). If we had a regulator and a union that weren't in RM's back pocket perhaps they would be making a noise about it but the silence is deafening...
You do the work, they get the loot. The men with the smiles and the 3 piece suits.

Imagine if these managers were using something like encrochat to do their bidding/shafting between eachother, or Telegram. All for an extra 8K a year. Half of them would be in jail. Get their WhatsApp/FB messenger accounts checked.
It wasn't very busy in Mail Centre on Saturday night tracked. A lot.of delays due to time change and some road closures, but I don't think volume was that big.
A expect a lot of items to be back, to rescan.and re-dispatch for Monday delivery.
Massive volumes at ours today - over 2300 parcels. We failed over 250 items, mainly Amazon boxes, as we had to prioritise the flowers and Mother’s Day stuff.

How many people does your DO have on Sunday delivery?
Update: we had about double the volume today than what we had the last Sunday I worked. Mostly flowers and tracked cards. Cards were easy to get rid of, just put them through the box. But we also had more staff on today than the usual Sunday which made it easier.
Horrible van though, handbrake was all slimy/greasy. First thing I did when back to the DO was wash my hands.

Our local DOs work from the MC or larger office on Sundays

What about sending people out with mail that they know full well will end up going back just so they can tick the sheet as the duty being cleared!
