It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No disrespect to Paul, but he might want to get that beard line looked at, looks a bit lumpy. He should probably see the NHS funded GP. Also we can all see through the lies Nigel.

Apparently Paul’s got a group of tools. More commonly known as the CWU.

What the bloody f**k this? Who’s scanning the parcels if not the driver? And what about all the s**t that gets chucked out by posties. Seems like an excuse for managers to put more onto drivers because apparently it’s all been pre scanned

Is this the "adhoc" vibe ..were you scan an area in an it allegedly takes you on the quickest route once you download the adhoc 1 or 2 or 3 manifest scene..

Big deal DPD was giving 1 hour estimated window of arrival 15 years ago.
Once again Royal Mail playing catchup but making it 10x more complicated and expensive.

What happens if there’s a discrepancy, somebody scans item onto walk/drive but not there once you go out on delivery?
The person that delivers should be the only one scanning in items.

Our DO has people in early scanning DPR routes ready for when the drivers start at 2pm.Valentina@1 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 05:25What happens if there’s a discrepancy, somebody scans item onto walk/drive but not there once you go out on delivery?

All these people have never covered walks and really don't have a clue.
They seem to ignore CSP and redirect notifications.
One saturday afternoon while washing the car outside my house in the space of 45 mins four different vans turned up all delivering to different address's within 10m of my house

What I want to know is will we be expected to take out more parcels now we're saving time by not scanning.

We've been doing this for a few weeks. It's great, can add "extra" to the DPR Yorks

Well, then the buck stops with whoever last scanned the item, ie, whoever scanned it to route. The deliverer should be able to pick up on this as part of their loading checks as a sequentially-numbered parcel will be missing.Valentina@1 wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 05:25What happens if there’s a discrepancy, somebody scans item onto walk/drive but not there once you go out on delivery?

Re: RMCtv : We’ve been trialling a new PDA application, known as Indoor Sort for Parcel Routes
Does the person actually doing the delivery do a out/ready for delivery scan or are they using the same principle as the parcel tracking, where an item is scanned to a york and that york is tagged to a destination or in this case walk. Once the york heads out into the yard, all the items would get flagged as out for delivery on that walk.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 18:24Well, then the buck stops with whoever last scanned the item, ie, whoever scanned it to route. Re: RMCtv : We’ve been trialling a new PDA application, known as Indoor Sort for Parcel Routes
Assuming they are using the Ad hoc process they'll scan all the items then number them all as per the PDA route mapping, the driver will then just load up their van and proceed to deliver them.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 18:36Does the person actually doing the delivery do a out/ready for delivery scan or are they using the same principle as the parcel tracking, where an item is scanned to a york and that york is tagged to a destination or in this case walk. It works OK in our DO until you get a parcel where the person scanning the parcels has chosen the wrong address option, or didn't realise that the "Station Rd" was one miles away from your own DPR route.
