Police quiz 'tractor death' husband

A 40-year-old north Cumbrian farmer is still being questioned on suspicion of murdering his wife.
Police have not formally identified the man, but he was named locally as Robert Wilson, whose 53-year-old wife Jane died on December 1 last year in what was reported at the time to be an accident.

She was reported to have been knocked down by a tractor on the couple's farm at Kirkandrews-on-Eden.

As police continue to hold the man they issued a fresh appeal for information about Mrs Wilson's last months.

They want to build up a detailed picture of her life in the months before her death at the farm where she lived and worked for a decade with her husband.

Shortly after the tragedy it was reported that Mr
s Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, on the couple's farm, after she was hit by a tractor.

A part-time village postwoman and a talented horserider, she was well known in the village and throughout the county, especially in equestrian circles.

Her skill in dressage horseriding had led to her winning numerous trophies and rosettes. At last year's Lowther Show, she won the championship for the second year running.

Det Insp Paul Marshall said: "Jane was a well known and well liked person in the local community, particularly through her passion for horses and her skill as a rider.

"Many people throughout the county will have known Jane and I'd encourage those people to get in touch and help us build up a picture of what Jane's life was like in the months leading up to her untimely death."

I come from Northern Ireland and I've known people who've been shot and blown up and the best defense to deal with it is humour and if you don't like it then don't read it :cuppa
