Dramatic mobile phone footage has shown the moment a digger driver went on a rampage, rammed a car off the road and then smashed into the side of a Post Office.
The incident unfolded along the stretch of the A58 in the Platt Bridge area on Tuesday morning (March 4). A large yellow digger was seen being driven at speed as two men chased it down the road.
Mobile phone videos then show the driver appearing to ram into the vehicle in front, before then forcing it to skid down the road and onto a grass verge as horrified onlookers were heard shouting.
The digger was later crashed into a traffic light and the outside of a Post Office at the junction with Platt Street and Walthew Lane. Police were called to the scene and taped off the area following the crash.
Surrounding streets were gridlocked at rush hour - including Warrington Road, Liverpool Road and Lily Lane - as emergency crews responded on Tuesday.

Officers arrested a man on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving following the crash. He was taken into custody to be questioned but has since been bailed. Investigations are ongoing.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said on Tuesday morning: "At around 9:30am this morning (Tuesday, March 4 2025) we received a report of a road traffic collision on Walthew Lane in Platt Bridge, Wigan involving a digger.
"A scene remains in place whilst enquiries continue but the road is now reopened. A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 195 of March 4, 2025."
