The wage dispute at Deutsche Post (OTC:DHLGY) is resolved, with an agreement reached for a total salary increase of five percent. This resolution comes after multiple strikes and four rounds of negotiations. The approximately 170,000 postal workers and logistics employees of Deutsche Post will benefit from a 2.0 percent pay increase from April 1, 2025. A further 3.0 percent increase is scheduled for April 1, 2026. This agreement was reached in the fourth round of negotiations between the company and the Verdi union, as announced by both parties.
Starting from 2026, all employees will also receive an additional day of vacation. Those who have been with the company for 16 years or more will be granted a second extra day of vacation. The new collective agreement, which has a term of 24 months, takes effect retroactively from January 1, 2025.
The successful conclusion of the negotiations came after an extensive period of discussion that started on a Monday morning and, after a brief overnight break, continued into Tuesday morning. The collective bargaining parties initially met at the beginning of January.
