New tracked with pin number

just been told about this today. Tracked is going to change, where the customer has to provide you with a pin number in order to receive the parcel. So if this is on every tracked item, it seems you will be bringing back half your items every day as you simply cant deliver it anymore regardless if customer in or not. If correct this will put endless time on duties we already struggle with, where is the logic?

If it's every tracked it'll triple the delivery time at each house. The customers won't know the pin. They'll have to go and find the phone and the older ones will be f****d. I'm not surprised if it comes in. The worse the idea the more likely it happens.

Reality is, it will be for tracked ideas with a high value.
Same way Amazon use it now.

We haven't been told about this but it's surely going to be for higher value items so people can't pretend they haven't received them. As someone else said Amazon already do it (no surprise there we're copying something else) for such as high value phones.

Basically like any item that is difficult or time consuming to deliver Amazon don’t want their drivers delivering it. They just want their guys opening the van door & chucking it up the path in a vague direction of the front door irrespective of the weather. Quantity over quality!!! Unfortunately for us RM will now take on these items thus demanding their posties fulfill QUANTITY & QUALITY!!!!

We haven't been told this but we're told we are now going back to having Van Keys attached to our belts via clip so we always take the keys out the van.

Sure we've tried this years ago and it failed miserably!
