As we all know ever since the regulator stepped back clear offices no longer rule.Londonsburning wrote: ↑25 Feb 2025, 21:00Same pal. How's your walk, are the pair of you managing to clear?

Can we stop the stupid insults and have a serious forum for this issue? We are heading down an USO step change
and nobody knows what our job is going to look like in 6 months? We need insight and facts, NOT insults!!

Re: LTB 042/25 – OFCOM CONSULTATION ON USO REFORM
The prevailing attitude in our office is to keep doing pretty much what we are doing now by delivering 2 days worth of mail/parcels on one duty and all the Tracked parcels/1st class from both and then alternate the following day. That means that only one of the posties in the pairing will be expected to work a Saturday delivering all the Tracked and 1st class off both duties and on Monday and Tuesday's there will be 3 days worth of post to deliver off one round.
USO reform allows RM managers to officially keep doing this and if the office needs to make greater savings then it is likely that staff won't be asked to work their rest day so that the mail on one of the rounds doesn't get delivered. The exception to this are posties who have a lot of firms on their round as they will still be expected to deliver the post everyday Monday to Friday.
Personally, I would like to see a 4 day week but in our office they are unwilling to put dedicated parcel drivers in.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
