AMAZON has announced it set a new record for fastest delivery speeds for Prime members worldwide in 2024.


More than nine billion items were delivered on the same or next day globally, with over one billion of those in the UK.

The most popular items included pharmacy essentials and beauty products.

The company has said it continues to invest in its logistics and delivery capabilities, offering same-day delivery for millions of products in more than 80 UK towns and cities.

John Boumphrey, UK country manager at the company, said: "Our customers always tell us that they value the low prices, wide selection, and fast deliveries that we provide.

"We work hard to innovate and provide faster, more sustainable deliveries, and are proud to announce another record-breaking year for fast delivery, with some big savings for Prime members along the way."

The fastest order in the UK in the last three months was a children's book in Manchester, which was delivered in just over an hour.

In addition to home delivery, Amazon provides over 25,000 pick-up locations across the UK.

Prime members benefit from unlimited one-day delivery on millions of items, exclusive deals, access to premium programming on Prime Video, and more.

They also saved nearly £200 on fast, unlimited delivery in 2024, more than double the annual membership fee.
