Just supposing your a 5 hour a day guy whose had his round prep for him / her, and you had more then a few mis sorts for another area. Would royal mail then expect you to cycle to those areas to deliver the mis sort. What would leighton do if he was in the same situation. Me thinks he would take a dump in the bag give the bag to the postie then use that to sack the postie.
Since using this site, i am learning about different rules and regulation from all sorts of difference office. Surely idiot boy leighton would have the sense to make the rules all the same and inform each and every one of use by writing what these rules are.
I was training a few new people months back, got a training manuel but no where does it tells you what to do with mis sorts.

I'm sure if memory serves me right but i'll have a shuftie in the morning, but there's a notice which tbf is around some dark corner of the office that says you endorce the mail (missorts) and get it back to the office in the usual way.
A while back the collection dudes were grabbing random bags from their collections(Managers of course not blue shirts) and searching through them for, deep breath........shabbs,boils,slamms,doggings,soakings,slippins,jostleings mail and a couple of guys i know got pulled.
We were then told that if we had missorts and WE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO RE-DELIVER THEM then to endorse them and pouch off the usual way.
Personally i put a little 'm' squiggle on the back so if i get caught i'm covered.
I don't put MISSORTED on them as it dont look good when they are redelivered.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

This sat thing seems to crop up more and more on here.leiwolf wrote:but what about parcels on saturday where if you can't get rid of them and everywhere shut what do they expect.
I guess now if you guys out there are having serious problems with it then the reps possibly area as well need to get with the DOMs and sort something out.
If there is nowhere to leave them then the last resort is for the drivers to pick them up off you lot.
Most of us have mobiles ect wouldn't be hard to sort out,but i'm guessing the drivers wont be happy about it,but then again,do they want a full time job.

In our office we are instructed to write missort on the front of the letter and pouch it off, again every office is differentIf you take out mail then it has to be delivered unless there is a valid excuse not to and a missort would not be a valid excuse. This is what I was told whenever I started and we have also had WTL talks about missorts having to be delivered. Although you could always say there was a wild elephant loose and you couldn't deliver because of it

Saturdays do cause problems more now but we have a york inside the office and thats where we have to put docket left items with special delivery items we have to take them to the mail centre and hand them over to a manager its easy for us because are attatched to it,we never have any managers left in the office after 10 they tend to go home on a weekend thats if they are not out on delivery.

I'm too new to realise what the 'nickname' is for it in my DO. However I asked my line manager when I started what happens if there is missorts in my walk as I don't prep it all myself. He just said bring it back when you come in, so i do and put it into my box were I collect my IPS and office missorts in the morning.
The Majority of people in my office do it. If there not coming in then I don't know, we got told that we'd be having random pouch checks the day after the easter break but I haven't seen anyone been checked nor myself.

Make sure you get what he said in writing postyparker, otherwise if you do bring back anything and you get a bag check you will be suspended and perhaps sacked.postyparker wrote:I'm too new to realise what the 'nickname' is for it in my DO. At our place we put them back into the system via POs or PBs - or bring it back into the office on the same day its a lot safer

What I meant is bring them back on the same day. Some lad recently put more or or less a full bundle in a PB, got caught and suspended.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Make sure you get what he said in writing postyparker, otherwise if you do bring back anything and you get a bag check you will be suspended and perhaps sacked.postyparker wrote:I'm too new to realise what the 'nickname' is for it in my DO. Yes or you could just ask the customer to do it (and to just do that whenever they get one)NewPostieUK wrote:A customer gave me a letter back and said that the person didn't live there anymore, I don't have to go all the way back to the DO just with that one letter to kill off do I?
Would I be OK writing Return To Sender on it and posting it?
